I just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Kendall and I live in Snohomish just north of Woodinville.

I have decided that I will be buying a Valkyrie this next week or so as soon as my disbursement is deposited into my bank account.

I was wondering if you might have some advice on what to look for/avoid while I am searching.

I would prefer to purchase a Tourer as I require a windshield and bags.

There are a lot of real nice Valkyries for sale and some are fairly close to the Northwest. Have you posted on the VRCC classified that you are looking for a Tourer?  If not you should do that it just might put you in contact with someone that has one for sale.

Things to look for....condition of the bike, Make sure it looks like it has been taken care of. Are there any service records.  Good luck and welcome aboard. Oh and be sure and post some pictures after your purchase. We like looking at them Valkyries.   Raymond "Whooray" Hill

Why not an I/S? More storage space and more OME goodies. Wink

I am not quite sure which "northwest" is been referenced.  Embarrassed   A northwest state or
the northwest part of your state? ???

I'm not as attracted to the faring as the windshield. You are correct that I'd have more storage, but I prefer the more traditional look of the standard and tourer. I will be driving this a majority of the year to work so I will need some sort of windshield.

I am both in the Pacific Northwest as well as the Northwest portion of my state. (Washington)

If I were looking to by a Tourer I would have to seriously look at the one Attic Rat has in the classified ( does not say sold ). That's about as close to a new one you could find.  That is a sweet looking Valkyrie.

Welcome. I live in Marysville so we are practically neighbors!! I hope you find one soon and maybe we can meetup for a ride. Found mine on a craigslist last winter. Prices are good here and they tend to have low miles. Good hunting.

Thanks Paxton! I didn't see the one in CdA and it's got me re-evaluating the one in Olympia.

John - I just sold my old Yamaha XJ750 and feel the need to get back up on two wheels. Just waiting for the disbursement check to clear the bank and I'm going to be looking hard at a couple candidates. I'd love to meet and possibly take a ride. I'll keep you informed.

I got a PM from AtticRat but didn't know that he had it up in the classifieds. I'll go look now.

Thanks for all the support and I hope to be showing up at future events.

I like the one in Olympia . It has a few extras such as the Ultimate seats that are a few $'s. Good luck in your search.

Woohoo!

Brought my new bike home today!

She's a 1998 green/teal tourer. The one that was for sale down in Olympia.

Put my first 100 miles on her this afternoon and I can't seem to wipe the smile off my face.

AWESOME!! That would have been my 1st choice. We will have to get together for a meet-greet ride I will IM you my cell. My wife rides her own VT1300 Interstate and we are usually out and about every weekend. We will be heading to CDA Idaho to meetup with Whooray and Nogrey weekend after next.

Work has me pretty tied down for the next few weekends  Sad I got the stink-eye when I brought up Inzane so I'm not sure when I will actually get out to ride.

My wife has never ridden with me. (Only got on the back of her father's bike because he insisted on taking our (then) 2yo daughter around the block on his Electraglide.

Fortunately that was the bug that bit my daughter so if I can't get wife to come with me, I can probably get the 15yo (now) to ride along. Smiley

Where was I going with this?

Oh! I'm going to try to get to the CdA ride on the 23rd. Mind if I invite my brother with his BMW K1100 along?

Icelander,

There are several Valkyries in the local craigslist adds for Seattle.  I bought mine a few months ago.  I picked up an Interstate.  I love how it rides.  It seems that the interstates go rather quickly when you do see them advertised.  If you get a Valkyrie, check out the local Valkyrie club here in Washington.  They are called the VERMIN.

Wavalk - Thanks for the referral. I'll have to check them out. I did pick up a bike (Should be posted above is I'm not mistaken)

Unfortunately, it looks like my CdA trip plans have been dashed. I have to shuttle my daughter to and from driving school this weekend.  Cry

Looking forward to future rides soon. thanks for all the support!

First off, welcome to the family. I'm here in Moses Lake (Central Wa.) and get over your way fairly often, since my son lives in Marysville. Perhaps you and John and I can hook up sometime.  BTW I like your new baby, that's one of my favorite color combo's.

Thanks! I really like the color, tho my buddies like to tease me about it. Smiley I figure I'll just keep track of those that have a bike and spank them the next time we go for a ride.  Evil

I did have a phone conversation with John the other day, unfortunately I was out at a restaurant with some friends and was unable to talk.

So far, I've just been commuting with her. I hope to go on a ride sometime. Unfortunately, my daughter's driving school is on the weekends so I don't get much opportunity to get recreational miles in.

I'm hoping that we'll get a nice weekend in November and I can possibly hit parts of the Cascade Loop. I have a brother over in Wenatchee. Maybe we can all converge somewhere and make a day of it.
