I'm trying to find an F6B Deluxe but having little luck.  It looks like the Honda incentives have helped sell most of their inventory.  So, some dealers are offering to build me a semi-Deluxe by installing the heated grips, backrest, and center stand out of Honda's catalog.  The other 'extra' on the Deluxe, self cancelling turn signals, is not available.

So here's my question.  Are the self cancelling signals a big deal?  My last bike to have them was an old V65 Sabre, and they often cancelled when they shouldn't have.  I'm curious if the new ones work any better.

I bought a red standard. IMHO, no big deal. Been cancelling my own turn signals on the Valk, no different. I opted for a standard, could've got a Deluxe but I figured the difference in price wasn't worth it for me. The passenger back rest is not all that useful unless you get an extension to raise it up. Otherwise it's just a butt chalk for your passenger. My plans are to replace the stock seat with an Ultimate King along with the rider and passenger backrests. So that was another reason. The center stand can be had pretty cheap on Ebay. Lot's of Goldwing trike conversions as source. Honda wants $249 for it.Ebay has them for $50 and less. That comes down to the heated grips. I may add some aftermarket ones later, but have never hadd them before, so not really going to miss them.

You are better off canceling them yourself. I have them on my 12 Goldwing and they don't stay on long enough for me. I keep having to turn them back on.

I had a couple of 1979 Yamaha XS11 Specials and they had really good self-cancelling turn signals.  I've been thinking about trying to locate the flasher unit that makes them work and apply it to my Valk.

As I remember, the early high tech (for the '80s) self cancellers used input from the speedo along with elapsed time to decide when to shut off.  They may have used lean angle as well, but the algorithm must have been very simplistic and they worked poorly.  The problem is a bike's steering mechanism can't be used to trigger the shut off like a car's.

Today I'd think you could use a GPS to determine when a turn or even lane change had been completed.

I have the self-canceling blinkers on my '14 ABS Valkyrie.  Personally, I like s/c blinkers, but these only stay on for 1/10 of a mile.  Pretty short IMO.

I have to keep 'thumbing' the switch to keep the cagers behind and in front of me knowing I'm turning.  PITA sorta.

HD has the best s/c blinkers.  Stay on until you make the turn, or cancel them yerownself.   HD's been doing this like forever.
