Rick said he did his this way and has had zero problems.... Thanks Rick for taking the time to look up the link and sending me a e-mail  cooldude

Same thing happened to me in 2008 while 200 miles from home.  Managed to get electrical connections operational and start the Valk by jumping the starter relay.

Mine looked exactly the same . I cut the end of the pigtail off and used a larger gauge wire and female spade connectors , never had a problem since , did not replace my relay .

Joe, I remember you saying that your signal lights would work when they wanted to. My left rear works sometimes and sometimes it gives an indication that the bulb is burnt. The bike is running fine while I'm out on a trip now, but I'm a little concerned about this intermitten problem. Hope to get a look at it at my next stop.

I'm glad that worked, it is my plan too... while wondering about it, I saw
this on amazon and bought it... $5... (it was the last one)...

When it finally got here, I found that the pigtail plugs right into the Valkyrie
relay, as I had hoped...

Yes and the signal lights are still just working when they want too... My friend Gordon ( Lucky 13 ) and I took the signal switch apart and cleaned everything up ( it looked pretty good before we cleaned it ) . We thought we had fixed it and went for a ride only for it to start again just working sometimes  Undecided   I'm not sure that has anything whatsoever to do with the starter relay cooking  ???

Question ..... Does anyone know if the wires going to the starter relay have anything to do with the signal lights ? Took a ride last night and my signal lights work perfect until I touch the front or rear brake then they stop working. No speedo or tach light now as well <--- Does the wires going to the starter relay have anything whatsoever to do with the signal lights and the speedo and tach lights ?

Check The 15 Amp (Blue) Fuse.  I Had A Short In The Taillight Assembly That Would Blow The Fuse Every Time I Hit The Brake.  If That Fuse Is Blown, Check The Wiring Under The Rear Fender For A Rub.  ThAt's How We Do It Up North.

On a Standard/Tourer, all of the fuses (including fuses for meter and turn signal circuits) in the multi-fuse panel are powered through the 30A fuse at the starter relay.  On Interstates, the fuses for audio/meter and headlights are powered directly by the battery/alternator, skipping the 30A fuse at the starter relay.  I'm not sure about the turn signals.

Like this here thang?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4SR1SP8023&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-_-pla-_-Switches+%26+Relays+-+Replacement-_-9SIA4SR1SP8023&ef_id=U-uprgAAAUZlDGmW:20140825212502:s

seems like a good, cheap investment for an emergency kit.

After reading all of this thread I would almost guarantee you have a bad ground to the entire rear lighting assembly.  All of your symptoms point to it

Valkorado, I like the relay you found. Hubcapsc not so much. We need a 12 volt coil. A 24 volt coil may - or may not -  pull in with a 12 volt source. If it does, great, but it won't have much tolerance for a further drop in voltage without risking dropping out. Also, the 30 amp fuse should be included in the fix.
