I have a 1998 Valkyrie. At 2,300 miles or less I replaced the OEM seats with aftermarkets. The original seats are dust collectors at my house.

I should try to sell them. Any ideas on a range of values?

Includes Drivers, Passengers, and Passengers back rest.

I gave mine all away....not much value there, mainly because very few actually want them things.  But if you find the rare one who wants them, Id say $50 for fair up to $75 for pristine condition for all three

The saddle itself is almost worthless because of the improvement in the OEM 2000+ saddle.  The exception would be to someone who wants the seat solely to use as the base for a custom seat to be built.  $50 would be a good price in that case.

The pillion and passenger backrest pad are just as good as any OEM versions and should be good for something between $40 and $70 for the pillion and something around $25 or a little less for the pad.

The Pillion is especially desirable on a '98 as it contains the words "Made in USA" on the back.

50-100 bucks for all three is about it.

I bought on craigslist a brand new Valk I/S OEM seat along with rear I/S backrest pad for 50 bucks couldn't pass it up.

If you can get more than 60 bucks, say 75 bucks, that is good IMO.

I have a pristine 2000 set in the box my Ultimate King set came in. I didn't think that the driver/rider seat was bad at all, but the wife sure wasn't a fan of the passenger accommodations. Hence the Ultimates, which she loves. I do enjoy the Back rest though and wouldn't want to go back.

I actually watch the prices on a somewhat regular basis.  My observations are based on ebay auctions.  Based solely on my limited observations, I would say the seat priced bottomed in about 2007 to 2008.  The prices and availability have been increasing (prices) and decreasing (availability) since then.  At this time, availability on ebay is pretty low and prices are close to or above the price of new seats.  It would seem that lots of sellers do not realize that new seats are still available for prices less than the starting price of used (or even damaged) seats on ebay.

Are the studded OEM's rare? My '99 has them in perfect condition. The Boss does not like her perch, thinking of going Ultimate, but wondering if I should save the originals, with the USA label.

Yes.  Then again, you can buy the studs and kit to stud anything you would like to.

Thanks for all the responses. After reading thru, anyone who wants them can have all 3 pieces for $50 (seems to be the low end of the range) + shipping. 920-582-0584     angel
