Hello, A question ref the above. Having connected the above into the acc connection lugs inside the r/hand panel, the unit lights up upon starting engine. All good I think. Should all three L.E.D. light up at the same time, that is red, yellow and green. If this is correct am I right in thinking that if a problem should arise the green would go out leaving just red and yellow and if a bigger problem is on its way the yellow goes out leaving just the red.  Thanks for any logic. John R

Rightmost illuminated light indicates volts. All lights to the left of it are also illuminated.

Also, mine never lighted more than one green light, even on a fully charged battery, and after riding/charging for hours.
However, I recently put in a new Yuasa, and now I sometimes get two green lights.
These are nothing more than fancy idiot lights, I would rather have a charging volt meter, so I could have a little more warning if my alternator began crapping out.

Mine went from one green, to no green, to one yellow, to 2 red while riding one evening. Alternator was toast and I knew it, because of that idiot light little meter. If I turn off my pod lights, I get 2 green lights.  Hay  Jimmyt

I have the same gauge, I am assuming; mine's shown below. I run three standard H4 bulbs for headlights, and while moving my gauge is sometimes two green and sometimes one. When idling for a little while it will drop to yellow. It has done this since I bought it a few years ago, so I have the attitude that I'm not going to worry unless it starts reading lower. One thing you could do is take the seat off, put a good voltmeter on your battery, run your bike in various conditions that will change the voltage reading on your battery, and note your Kury gauge reading vs. the good voltmeter. That way you will know that when each LED lights up or turns off, it means that the actual voltage is between X and Y.

That sounds right. I have the first green on and the second flashing during normal running conditions. Switching off driving lights results in the second green coming on solid.

The only time I have ever gotten 2 green lights on mine was last week going around the Cabot Trail under heavy engine braking. Recently I have started losing my one green light with everything on, 85/100W headlight, pair of 35W driving lights, and 400W amp on a standard. I haven't put a voltmeter on the battery yet, it is 2-3 years old, but like the others I don't put a great deal of faith in the led's. After frying an alternator a few years ago though, I was looking for any sort of advance warning if things went south again.

I tried the idiot light one.
The way the lights flickered on and off it worried me since I had a ton of miles on MGM.
Was looking for an amp gauge for the Chevy Trike. Came across the Dakota Digital, blue lighting gauge. Bought one for the Chevy, installed it, and wow, I had more fun watching it that I did watching, well we won't go there.
Took it off the Chevy, temporarily, just stuck it on MGM and went for a ride. Kind of figured out 1/2 way what my readings were telling me.
Took it off, put MGM back stock, and put it back in the Chevy. Haven't looked back.
I hate idiot lights anyway. They isn't really telling you anything. When it is charging, it is green, when it ain't it is red. I want to know the actual, then I at least have a fair warning when it is going South for the winter.

R. J., what you experienced is exactly why I did not mount the Kury gauge in front of me. I did not want to constantly see all those LEDs that would distract from the other idiot lights I should pay attention to. Mine is mounted on top of the rear brake reservoir cover. I just have to look down to check electrical conditions. It was also easy to install in that location, the 12V can be picked up from any number of spots and the gauge is independently grounded on the back of the starter motor.

I have had one for years, the only time it goes from two green to one is if I blow the air horn or push in the cig lighter. I originally got it cause I have never serviced or replaced the alternator. That was at 70K miles. It has 133K on it now, and I still have not touched the Alternator. ??? Hoser
