Bought my wife a new 2013 Honda 750 Spirit. This is the only bike that she can reach the ground well enough to ride. I noticed that when the key is first turned on several lights, engine oil, engine management ect. light up as if a test but the temperature light does not. I also noticed that after a ride and at a idle for several minutes the fan does not run. I looked in the owners manual and could not find out anything. Anyone have one of these or know if the temp. light should be on? I have not had time to investigate yet. Thanks  Firefighter

It's probly like the Valkyrie, the temp light never comes on unless it is overheated.   Hoser

As long as it's full of fluid and the coolant is moving, the temp light will never come on. The big decorative fins on the jugs will keep the motor cool enough with just a little airflow. The fan will come on during stop-n-go traffic on a hot day, but it's not loud and will shut off when you kill the motor. You might hear it at idle, but I hardly ever hear my fan with aftermarket exhaust.

Thanks for the answers, I still have not had time to investigate. My Valk wont run too long at idle, especially after a ride before the fan runs, just wasn't sure about the Spirit.  Firefighter

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

My 2012 aero is the same way. She put 5,000 miles on it last yr and the fan has never came on. I let it idle in the garage for 15 min and it never came on.

Its probably OK. I am picky about the bikes. I know the Valk is different, will check it out soon. I have temp gauge on my IS so I can monitor the temperature all the time. I also have two green lights that come on with the fan so I always know what is going on. Thanks --  Firefighter
