FYI, I was as a local Honda dealership today and the sales guy said he spoke with their Honda rep recently and was told many new accessories will be released for the Valkyrie soon. It sounded like the timing was to be in 2015. This is only a RUMOR. I heard it as a "supposed to". I wasn't convinced that this is definitely going to be the case. He specifically mentioned Honda was working on a "bat wing" fairing. This sounded odd as why would Honda add an accessory to the Valkyrie line to basically turn it into an F6B? Then again, I can't wait to get hard bags for my Valkyrie, and that would start turning it into an F6B. Just an FYI for y'all about a rumor I heard.

It won't turn it into an F6B. It'd be a fork mounted fairing. The Valkyire still differs in other areas.

Mother Honda needs to do something!!! Their accessories STINK when compared to the accessories HD has for their bikes. I would love to own an 1800 Valk but no go unless I see some great improvement in their accessories or after market comes on strong.

Accessories? Well, Honda has little in the venue, IMO. A bat faring is stupid, too. And, expensive.
Anyway ...
I have a Harley Street Glide, too. The Motor Company has a catalog with hundreds of pages of accessories, bits and stuff for my bike. Exhausts, bags, lights, grips, saddles, bars, chrome, black stuff, motor upgrades, yada, yada.
Honda? Zilch !
Honda makes a new model every couple years, then you never see it again. HD? Not so much. The front fender of my bike is the same one they had at least 30 years ago on one of my other bagger HDs.
The New Valkyrie is not just a new bike. It's 'newish'. The bike it's based on has been 'round for nearly 15 years without much change. Honda's R/D could have been working on accessories for some time and had them available at debut.
But, I don't see the New Valk being around long. Depends on sales (which I think will be smallish). No point in developing a bunch of accessories for a bike with a limited life span. Same/same with the original Valk.
I am bummed that with the $1000 accessory bonus, I don't have much to choose from at this moment. 2015 will void this program. So, I have some studded bags ordered. (sigh ...)

True Harley hasn't changed enough in 50 years to make it worth getting one . I mean why not make the same old design with a bit of new paint and a new FRTZX model number and sell it to the die hard blind ones ?
I like having newer models with a different design to choose from over the years , some are good and others not so much . I have never and never will but a bike for making money when its a classic as I buy them to ride
How many new addons does one really need ? Aftermarket is always a better deal for addons for any make of bike .

he's got a point. I keep hearing everyone compare the valk to a Harley all the time, never to any other bike, just Harleys, so the Harley must in all seriousness be a pretty good bike now days. I think I will sell my hydrolocking prone, mysterious o ring, popping, drive gear eating, 6 carb, poor mileage valkyrie trike, and buy me a Harley too.

good, then you could be another "me too" hog owner. there is no comparing a harley and a honda. two totally different bikes, that definately draw two totally different crowds.

I own both ... plus, a Wing. I don't think I run in any "crowd".
These are all somewhat different types of motorcycles. Each with a niche' that can be enjoyed by many folks. I like them all for different riding conditions and how I feel I want to ride the day I toss a leg over one.
When comparing Honda with Harley ... perhaps look at Valkyrie vs V Rod, rather than with HDs heavy V-Twin cruisers. These may be more comfortable comparisons IMO.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I ride maybe 10,000 miles a year on my bikes. Mostly by myowndamself. Perhaps a couple 4-5 day trips with another biker, and several day trips with a couple others. But, I don't like riding in crowds, and I don't like HUGE rallies like Sturgis, Daytona, or the like. I would slit my wrists IF I went there. I have no use for such rallies. Been to Americade couple times in the mid 2000's ... mostly rode Upstate with my SO and another dude. Rallies are not what I enjoy about being a motorcyclist, m'friend. BTW ... been to Sturgis as a kid many times in the Black Hills since I grew up in western Nebraska. Crappy little town I must say. Having over 100K bikers there would make me nutz. Hangin', drinkin', talkin' stories ... lookin' at cheap crap and lots of bikes? Not my cup o'Joe.
