I was researching some ideas on how to do a little wrenching on my I/S while I'm not riding (wife had her hip replaced on 8/25 so sticking close to home).  Ran across some entries authored by Hoghead and Laser Pat from such a short time ago and had to stop and reflect on them and the fragility of this thing we call life.

Matt wasn't in our group for long but made an impression - best man cave ever. Best color Valkyrie (blue and silver I/S).  I rode with the Patriot Guard at his funeral and his bike was on a trailer as part of the procession.  I remember it like it was yesterday. Very moving.

Of course, Pat was around the VRCC for a long time and many more of us knew him.  One of my favorite memories is when he had been on a diet, lost some weight and was eating chicken fried bacon in Snook with a little grin on his face, knowing he shouldn't but not being able to help himself.  Pat's ribbon has been on my Valk since his memorial and will be until I stop riding.

I am so grateful for this life the Lord has given me and the fine folks I've met in the Valkyrie community over the years.  The memories are wonderful.

It is an honor to know and ride with all of you and I look forward to our next ride.  Remember the important part of a lifespan is the dash.

I understand where your coming from , I often reflect on my lost brothers as i'm puttin  down the rode, I never meet Matt but I did have the pressure of meeting Pat one weekend in the hill country and yes a great guy.One brother of mine carriers a small leather pouch tied to his handle bars, this pouch contains ashs from each of our fallen bros.....he does not ask for this but is givin to him by the spouces of each and to him it is  not only a honor but his honor to do so and when it is his time to become part of what he carries it will be passed on to whom ever his wife choose to be the honored one.  Just remember it never about where your riding to but the ride!
