CAF AIRSHO 2014

The 51st Annual AIRSHO is a little over a month away and we couldn't be more excited.

Colonels, it is time to pre-register for AIRSHO! When you arrive in Midland, you just pick up a packet at the Colonel Registration trailer and you are set.

Make sure to check out the Fighter Squadron Chalet and PrimeView this year.  Those are the best seats on the flightline! And Colonels have special discounted rates. Have questions about these or a private chalet? Call Gena at (432) 563-1000 or email her at glinebarger@cafhq.org.

This year's acts include a new act called “Dracula, The Rise of Vacul,” according to a news release, along with the Red Tail Squadron RISE ABOVE traveling exhibit, and other regular attractions including FIFI, the world’s only flying B-29.

Several hotels are offering special AIRSHO rates for CAF members. To see all available local hotels, please visit the accommodations page at AIRSHO.org.

CAF Atlanta Warbird Weekend

The Atlanta Warbird Weekend is a first-time project between two Wings of the CAF; Airbase Arizona and the Dixie Wing bases in Peachtree City, GA..

The event is dedicated to the remembrance and celebration of the men, women and machines of the Greatest Generation. In metro Atlanta, there are significant historical aviation resources, and the event aspires to be the catalyst to bring together the organizations, aircraft and people that keep this history alive, and so engage the public and businesses to preserve the spirit of our shared past.

Here is another aviation event for those with a need for speed  both on the ground and in the air!

Fall Fly Days & Car Show
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum brings the sights and sounds of history to life Saturday and Sunday, September 27-28, 2014, with our annual Fall Fly Days & Car Show, featuring the Museum's extensive collection of military aircraft and vehicles.

Purchase your tickets online by September 15th and receive a complimentary Fall Fly Days & Car Show 2014 poster!

In honor of the last official reunion of the infamous WWII AVG Flying Tigers a rare gathering of five to seven P-40 "Warhawks" will be on display. This special tribute will be the largest gathering of P-40s in more than a decade. In addition to the P-40s, the Museum will fly many of their own aircraft, including the AD-5 "Skyraider" and FM2 "Wildcat." Aviation fans can even book personal flights at discounted rates in many of the Museum's aircraft.

In addition to the aircraft, this year's car show will be bigger and better than ever! On Saturday, the Pontiac Southern Nationals will display some of the finest Pontiacs in the metroplex. Sunday's car show features the American Classic Car Show with classic and custom cars from every era.

The ever-popular Bombshell pin-up girls will be on hand interacting with guests, signing autographs, and taking photographs with your favorite plane or classic car. Pick up a copy of their new 2015 pin-up calendar. They will be around the Museum all weekend, so come by and say hi!

Of course, the day will include a special demonstration of the Museum's very own WWII Sherman Tank named "Gabriel." We hope to see you at this fun-filled day of activities.

All pre-purchased tickets will be added to our will-call list and redeemed in the gift shop Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Each day will require an admission fee as weekend passes will not be sold. For more information, please contact Rachael or Laura at the Museum Store, 972-380-8800  x100.

Fall Fly Days in underway!  The P-51 has flown over our house twice already.  I'm ready to jump on my 'Wing and race him!  Think I can beat him?
