Anyone have the pinout of the 5 pin DIN plug?
I am torn between wiring the mic for intercom or just the headphones for music. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Troy

Yeah well my wife says she enjoys riding too much so she doesn't want to hear me to mess it up... But I am planning to do a longer trip with her and the intercom would be handy for the days on the bike. Pin out anyone? Thanks, Troy

Why not buy a 5 Pin Din to 3.5 MM adapter? I just bought a $19 one for my F6B and it also works with my I/S.

Carl-
Does it work with mics? If so where'd you get it? Link please?
Dusty-
That's what I was looking for... If Carl's doesn't work I'll be making one.
Thanks again guys,
Troy

Dusty, not sure if that link is yours but if it is, does the Koss headset work with the mic? Do you think the speakers could be removed and put in helmet along with mic? Most headsets bought for helmets have terrible sound quality. Thought maybe these would sound better. Thanks

The link is to JeffK's website. That link is at the top of the shop talk page. All I know is where the information was. You may try the tech archives at the top of this page and do a search or try a search on this tech board.
Good luck with your hunting.

Troy, I don't think that it works with a mic. Here's the write-up from AeroStich at http://www.aerostich.com/intercom-system-adapter.html : Intercom System Adapter #3900 $19.00 Adapts any 5, 7 or 8 pin motorcycle intercom system connector (Most aftermarket types, OEM Gold Wing, Harley, etc..) to a standard 3.5mm stereo plug for use with earbuds and earspeakers. Simple, durable and reliable. 1.8"x .6"

So does this adapter only have listening but NO mic? Intercom System Adapter #3900 $19.00 I did so searching and found this Bluetooth set up. The Sena SM10 is a Bluetooth stereo audio adapter based on Bluetooth 2.1+EDR technology. You can connect various audio devices such as mobile phone or MP3 player by using the SM10. It also supports onboard audio systems of specific brands by using optional audio cables. Along with the dual streaming feature of SM10, both you and your passenger may listen to the same music or radio at the same time by using Bluetooth headsets in the market. The SM10 has AUX audio input that enables you to connect additional non-Bluetooth audio devices such as radar/laser detector or GPS navigation. http://www.sena.com/product/adapters/sm10/#tab-descriptionBut looking at their Sena to Honda adapter.. its just a 3.5mm 3 pole plug for audio, the voice would be transmitted thru bluetooth back to the SM10. http://www.sena.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/SC-A0121-1.pngI have not tried it, but honestly, I rather be wireless to my bike... your thoughts? For this "older" bike I am staying old school and low tech for the audio... This is a simple bike and I will keep a simple system on it..
Eventually I will upgrade everything to a newer technology.. Eventually.....

go to plug up . com and then on the left side of the page look for intercom adapters & extension cables there is a adapter for the Valkyrie or Goldwing where you can plug in your ear buds and also use your mike it is the "Y" connector . Got a set of custom ear plugs with speakers and use my mike also for the C.B.

I found a source for 4 conductor 1/8" (3.5mm) plugs and jacks. I will be making a 5 pin DIN to 1/8" adapter and trying it with a headset soon.
If it works I will show pictures and where to purchase parts.

Sorry for the delay, but my wife insists that I add a PTT button so I can't hear her swearing at me when I am riding aggressively... So I am designing a simple ABS box with a momentary push button and jack that will just be double sided taped onto the bike...
