So my rear turn signals now flash at the same time like 4-ways. My indicator light doesn't blink. Checked all connections in the rear turn signal unit and everything's good. I'm thinking it's a ground issue, so I'm wondering where the most likely spot is. Anyone else had a similar issue? Front turn signals seem to function normally. 97 Valk Standard.

You may have put a 1156 bulb in one or both front signals. Make sure the fronts are 1157. Hoser

Check the connector under the rear fender. It's near the seam in the fender

The fronts are definitely both 1157s. I checked the wiring under the rear fender and it looks ok from what I could see, but I'll have to check out the connector. Stupid stuff like this makes me want to stick a fork in my eye!

I think what I posted four years ago might shed some light on your problem: This is not a question, but for the information of those who might have a similar problem in the future. Many years ago I added a 4-way flashers circuit to my Valk using Chet's instructions on the Rattlebars sight: http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/fourways.htmlYesterday I had cause to use them (as I have often before) to offer help to a stranded motorist. The motorist was fine, but when I switched the four-ways off and signalled to get back on the road, my left and right turn signals flashed together and the yellow indicator on the headlight bucket didn't work. I had been noticing my turn signal switch getting stiffer over the last couple of years with the intention of eventually getting around to cleaning it and lubricating it, so this was the first thing I did after I got home. I took it apart, cleaned everything with aerosol electronics cleaner, put dielectric grease on all sliding surfaces, and reassembled it. Everything now works properly.

I will definitely have to try that! Great info. This board is, and always had been awesome! I'll be sure to update with whatever worked.

You can check part of the ground circuit by taking off the right side cover and looking inside the large clear/amber wire cover the wire indicated with the test light probe in the pic is the ground wire to the rear turn signals and license lights. The other end of the test light (black alligator clip) is connected to the powered on license light wire. If the test light lights up, your ground is good to this point.

Update: got turn signals working normally, now they will only work with the indicator bulb removed. Wtf? Any ideas?
UPDATE: For anyone else that has this issue, apparently certain LED bulbs will cause back feeding of voltage (or something like that) across the indicator bulb circuit. There is a diode kit to correct this which I ordered from superbrightleds.com I'll post an update when installed. The lights are bright and awesome though.
