Going dark side as soon as my new tire arrives. I was on Ride-on's web site deciding how much of their formula I need to order. I have used Ride-on in my last two sets of Avon's and it works for me, no weights, and got me home once with a punctured tire. While I was surfing around I found one individual who thought using Ride-on shortened tire life because of heat build up. My tires go 10,000 miles, and both sets have gone bad before worn to the wear limiter. So I was wondering, do you guys get more than 10,000 miles without Ride-on? Is 10,000 sort of normal for our heavy bikes? I ride easy at least I think I do. I also realize we all ride and think differently, but Oh Well. Thanks Firefighter

Ask the guys on the Texas board...

Me and Stanley Steamer get 6-8k on a rear Avon around here.

Guys in Florida get 20k.

I guess its the roads we ride on, not whether we're hard
riders, I think...

incorrect tire pressure creates excessive heat build-up.

Here in Michigan, I had a hard time getting 10,000 miles on a bike tire. Many were worn to the cord in that many miles. I tried several brands before turning to the darkside. I have used ride on in several tires and noticed no difference in mileage from the ones I didn't use ride on in. Darkside gave me nearly 20,000 miles and still had a lot of tread, and still had about 10,000 I believe left in the tire. I mostly wanted the rideon to help balancing the tire, and it worked well for that cooldude

Thanks, that is what I hoped to hear as I like using the product. My tires still have tread and look like they will go alot further but the first Avon went 10,000 miles and had a tread seperation, kind of split open. This last one developed a long bubble just off center at nearly 11,000 miles, both times the wear limiter still indicated a safe tire. It really gets hot here, but I don't ride very hard. My other bikes have been lite compaired to the Valk, maybe that is the difference. Anyway will be darksided soon! Thanks for the input.  Firefighter
