My '99 I/S has it's stock petcock now with 47k on the clock. I have never had a problem with it. Also don't shut off the petcock when I'm parked.

When running on my last tank it started missing with 2 bars showing on the gauge. I then switched to reserve, and back to on, it then cleared up.

Any ideas?   - I know Pignel would be an option. Or would a rebiuld kit be the answer.

You could rebuild it with a cover set (vacuum side parts) but eventually the fuel switch side will wear out and you will need a new one....OEM is more than a Pingel.  I did the rebuild thing then just replaced it with the Pingel.........wished I didnt waste the time rebuilding.  Make sure the tank is clean before you but the new valve in

I'll also chime in for the Pingel!!

I rebuilt mt stock petcock and she developed a slow leak. I figured why bother fooling with it and opted for the Non-Vacuum Pingel.

Simplicity at it's finest!
