Well, there is obviously merit to both sides of my quandary.  Scott suggested having "a wide range of challenges" (and yes, thanks for that  Wink ).
I'm not sure how many he meant, but I've come up with 4... 2 quantity, 2 quality.

1) Mega-Mileage Marathon.  Total mileage during entire challenge time frame.
2) Mini-Mileage Melee.  (In deference to you Notherners) Total mileage in ANY consecutive 3 month period during challenge time frame.
3) Create-a-Cruise.  As Solo1 stated, quality is in the eyes of the beholder... so you'll design your own 'series'.  It could be Bridges, Nat'l Parks, whatever rings your bell.  Be creative.
** Will be judged on 4 criteria:
    1) Creativeness of the series.  2) Total number of 'stops.'  3) Number of states covered during your series.  4) Total distance covered.
4) VRCC Fellowship Follies.  Meet as many fellow members between 8-16-09 and IZX.

I'll have a sign up page and complete rules posted as soon as possible.  However, in the meantime, basic rules include:
~ Challenge start: Sunday, 8-16-09; Challenge end: IZX opening ceremonies (approximately 7-14-10; exact date TBA).
~ Start and end mileage must be witnessed (with date) by 2 fellow VRCC members or any local LEO!
~ Verification of each "stop" or member meeting (for example, dated photo, dated park stamps, dated receipts, etc.)

Hope y'all join in the fun!!

You can't do much about the length of your life, so focus on the width.

Hey FB, You don't have to be on a Valk for the 3rd and 4th challenges.   cooldude

No, there's no way for us to know if folks knew each other before the challenge.  So, anyone counts... even if you already knew them.
Remember only 3 new pals per photo though... we want to make sure folks actually have a bit of a conversation with each other.  Good Luck, girl!

Rules are at: http://www.valkyrieriders.com/RidersChallenge.htm

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
