I've noticed that my oil light comes on with the ignition switch "sometimes" and I think it should be coming on "every time" I turn on the ignition switch. Y'all will probably have to educate me on this but seems to me that something is needing replaced or repaired?

Should come on with the switch and go out immediately on starting (standard).

Could be the oil pressure sensor, the bulb or wiring, or perhaps a loose ground up there somewhere...

I would check to see if there's voltage to the bulb with the key on and engine not running. If so, there's a bad bulb, socket, or ground...
