I think the new Valkyrie sounds kind of fake... and there's a
whistling noise that tracks the rpms, like what comes out of
car radios if they don't have a noise-canceler on the alternator...

I heard they were working on some kind of law requiring electric
cars to make some kind of noise so people won't get run over
in the parking lot...

The two things that attract me to electric vehicles:

awesome motor characteristics

dead silence

Years ago when the Honda Accord was new it was so quiet that we'd have to honk to get them to notice us.  We'd be right behind them and they couldn't hear us. I think it's interesting that they program in "creep" as we're used to letting off the brake and creeping.

One more thought on electric bikes is that they're silent, no shifting, no vibrations, no "starting", no "reving" and in other words nothing at all similar to what motorcyclelists identify with motorcycles and engines. I wonder bow that will play out. Bigger stereos like the Mustang?
