I finally got the parts, time and weather. But the bike up on the jack, strapped it down and proceeded to try and take off the kick stand frame member. Breaker bar, pneumatic impact wrench albeit small compressor, could not get the nuts off (Although I broke mine). I can't see a way to replace the spring pin on the bike. Sprayed it down with liquid wrench and will try again.

Those nuts are nylon insert nuts. you will have to put a wrench on the top of the bolts to get the nuts off. Sounds like you are just spinning the bolts. Hope that helps.

Nuts ain't movin'. 24" breaker bar, and all I could pull, nada. Maybe I will use a heat gun no flame if they are nylon. More Liquid Wrench.

Never had to remove the frame member to change the pin on mine.
Remove the kickstand itself (pivots on single bolt), and you should have plenty of room to get to the locking nut that was on the pin on backside of bracket...you can usually unscrew that and the remains of the pin will come out with it...or if the nut comes off...you can grab the remains with vice-grips and unscrew...

Daniel, it broke flush on the "down side" I will try to get to the nut on top but it seems awful tight just feeling around with my hands. Never is easy! Thank you!

Pull the stand itself...gives you plenty of room to reach the nut on top. Done it several times (more than I care to count, actually)

Just changed mine a couple of days ago.....leaning on the side stand....10 mm box end (as I recall) and since it is a locking type nut it spun the broken off piece right out. Be patient and git er done....

That bolt pins the switch holder. It's loosely held,
look at the bracket to where the pin goes. Proper
assembly makes the switch operate correctly.
