Give Geoff Rich over at Antler Creek Leather in Austin a call. He can probably give you a few ideas on gloves.

National Cycle sells some clear or smoked clear plastic handguards-sorta like the motocross guys use-for about $100 as I recall--keeping the wind off the hands will help considerably---then cycle gear sells lots of electric gloves...or tractor supply sells some big ol' over (the) mitts the ATV guys use...goofy maybe but they work!!

Maxim Honda in Allen is actually rather competitive with cost of Gerbings clothes.

That's where I bought all of my Gerbings wear.  There's nothing like warm ride out when the air temp is in the 20's or 30's.

Spent a small fortune in gloves and heated grips. I finally bought gerbings gloves and a gerbing jacket liner and never looked back. ride to work almost everyday 50 miles round trip been down to 21 degrees and no problems. I went cheap and wired up through a 3 way toggle switch  gloves one way and liner the other way  only need to kick liner on for 3 or 4 mins every 10 min or so. glove alittle more often.

I concur with all said about Gerbings. The gloves are good alone but can get VERY hot. If you have a good reason to get the vest do so and the thermostat so you can tuen down the heat on those not quite so cold days. And Gerbing has good customer service. My first pair of gloves, one was too hot while one was just right. They replaced them...now they're both too hot. LOL. Now I need to go down to a springtime jacket with the underliner vest and thermostat. HA
But all kidding aside, Gerbing is the way to go.
