Now I know some people think what he's done wasnt a big deal, and he paid for it. I dont see it like that, I think they should have put the low down asshole in the ring with some real hungry big dogs, he's not a big dog he's an asshole and a dumb one to boot. I for one will never watch a eagles game again. The owners are only in it for the money, your hard earned money. Them a hole's wont even give you the time of the day....but they sure want your money and will do anything to get it. I get some enjoyment watching a good game but I would rather be riding my Valk any day. Valk people have heart and soul, good people who would never think of doing anything like that. I don't care how good a player he is he still is an asshole in my book, he shouldnt even be the jockstrap gathering boy. He's no good. F'um.

I have 5 pets and I'd never want any harm done to them, but he has paid his punishment and an example has been set.  Move on and play ball.  However, Geaux Saints!

I wonder if they feel the same way about released sex offenders?
They've done their time too.  Undecided

Personally I couldn't care less, cuz I don't watch football, seems silly to sit and watch grown men playing.
I was surprised any team would bother picking him up.

I guess the question is: "Do you think he might do it again?"  I kinda doubt it.

What I can't stand is how everything is so orchestrated. Vick comes out of prison a changed man, he feel just terrible about what he has done and even offers to help the Human Society. Cry      This is text book PR.

Did he pay the price? Yes
Does he deserve to earn a living? Yes
I've never liked Vick and now I never will. Maybe it's because I'm a SAINTS fan or maybe it's just because he's a JERK!

Seems strange to me that Vick got 36 months for killing dogs and Dante Stallworth got 30 days for running over and killing a human. In the long run Vick will have lost more time from the NFL than Stallworth (he has been suspended for one year).

I am not sure what you guys and gals do for a living, but I could not have my job if I was a felon...and i am not pulling in Millions...

As for Dante, he should get more time...ABSOLUTELY...and they along with all other felons be out on the street...they have college degrees correct??? Well boys, put that education to work...I know none of us would get these sort of breaks....

What he done to those dogs and what he watched being done to those dogs should of been done to him.  But just be kind enough to at least offer him a choice...hanging?...or....drowning? Evil   And I agree with the sex offender statement...I don't believe those people are ever allowed to "complete" their sentence.  There needs to be a "dog killers" registry.  NFL is the only sport that interests me.  Guess I won't be watching any Eagles games ever again.  It's sad that so many things come down to the almighty dollar.

And now....our new addition to our little family.

As distastful as it sounds......He deserves to earn a living any way he can, even if it's playing football, and he deserves to make as much money as he can doing it.

You guys have it right though.  Stop watching Eagles games and their TV money will dry up because FOX, CBS, and the other networks carrying the games won't reach enough of an audiance to sell soap and viagra commercials.  Unfortunately, there will still be millions of fans and viewers.  Eagle fans are die-hard.

I am a life long Eagles fan and I'm very conflicted. We are a two dog family along with two cats, fish etc. I would like to find forgiveness and move on but I hardly think three years is adequate time to make amends. I'm glad the issue is not left to me to decide.
With all the noise about Michael Vick I don't see much being done about the dog fighting industry in general. If the crime is considered so serious the industry would be closed down which it isn't. I wonder if Michael is being singled out for harsh treatment for reasons other than the crime?

Dogs run loose every day and night.  When they are hit by cars no-one thinks to charge their owners with cruelty.  We also see where dogs fall out of pickup trucks because they are not restrained.  They end up just as mangled and dead as Vick's dogs.

It seems to me that the public has been more outraged by Vick's involvement in a blood sport than by the offenses against women committed by OJ, Kobe Bryant, or the nationally reported dragging death of a woman by an illegal alien.
Maybe that's to be expected in s country where people refer to small dogs as their "grandchildren" or their "fur babies" and fish are now being called "sea kittens".  Our values seem outta whack, to me.

For years, there were  weekly rooster fights over in the next county. The cops winked at it till some gal was so ill-advised as to carry her dumb ass out there and get gang raped.  That probably would have passed except for the fact that someone told a reporter about the cheering section.

In my opinion, pro sports is pretty much a cesspool full of overpaid junkies, drunks and rapists, anyhow. Vick won't make a ripple.

I have no sympathy for Vick, but do we really think his name and fame had nothing to do with his sentence. The animal rights groups got a lot of press out of him and will continue to. I heard they were out front of the stadium protesting already. Most fans are really fickle, if he ends up in the game and playing well all will be forgot.  Remember, the fans from philly booed McNabb when he was chosen during the draft.

Professional players are out of control, it makes it very difficult for high school coaches like myself to deal with students on a daily basis. What ever happened to the Barry Sanders of the world, score turn and hand the ball to the ref and walk off the field. How many players do that today.

If I hear this "he's done his time" "Paid his price" crap one more time I'm gonna puke  tickedoff If a convicted felon can't get a job pushing shopping carts at Wal-Mart or Home Depot, or your local Grocery store. Why the ---- should he make the big bucks in the NFL??? ???

I don't give a damn about Mike Vick, but he spent almost 2 years in prison!!  There are rapists and murderers and all sorts of other criminals that I would be more worried about than Vick and that spent less time in prison than him.  The guy has done his time and if he wasn't a famous athlete he probably wouldn't have done any time or even got caught!!  He was made an example of.

BTW I am a dog owner and lover.  I just can't see how this turned into a felony conviction.  We kill deer, elk, cow, chicken etc............... all the time.  Just because "dogs are a man's best friend" doesn't mean they are worth a man's life.

Love my dogs Jett and Crystal, both labs.

It turned into a felony because the US has loads of dog lovers and animal rights activist. I love dogs to, (I own a big ole rotty) but there are people who got less than 2 years for killing a person (Dante Stallworth). Have you ever seen what they do to grey hounds or race horses when they are done with them and can't make anymore money off them. Vick went to prison because of who he is not what he did.

I have no problem with it, I'm glad I'm not condemned for life for the poor choices I've made In my life. I wish people were as concerned for humans as they are with animals. I have three dogs but my human family will always come first. I'm not advocating what he did but he has done more then his time in my opinion.

 Cheesy Good luck Phili.  Cheesy

I agree with some that he got what he did because of who he is and they made an example out of him. I hate what he did, but please, relative to other crimes and sentences, that was extreme.

I am a Falcons fan and am thrilled to be rid of Vick and even happier to have Matt Ryan in his place. Vick has a long history of bad decisions, on and off the field.

His 60 minutes interview tonight (8.16) was the best he has done for himself. I hope he has learned and think he has.

Th only reason he has a new job - he lost the old one and it was NOT offered back to him- is because someone thinks they can profit from his talent. The NFL and Phili didn't sign him up out of the goodness of the hearts - they expect to make money from his return.  Shocked

Vick is an A_Hole, if Philly wants that caliber of people in their organization, so be it.  I never watch Philly games unless they are playing Pittsburgh.  GO STEELERS!

BTW they all make way too much money for me to care what happens to them.
