Not just for perverts

Awhile back, a HD friend who lives out of state sent me an e-mail and most was general gab. He stated that he has been buying some HD accessories for his bike and not confident that he could install it properly was considering taking it to a dealer to have it installed. His concern was not so much money as it was time off the road, maybe a couple of weeks just sitting at the dealer. So I suggested that he could have it done for about $29 and get it back on the road the same day, he thought that would be great. So I asked him if his Internet service had wireless, which he did and asked him if his wife's laptop had wireless, which it did. So I told him to go to RadioShack and buy a USB webcam with a built in mic. for $29. He told me the laptop had a cam built in and I told him it wouldn't work for what we are doing, because we need to move the cam around and the RS cam has higher res. So he got the cam and installed the drivers, at that point I told him to download the latest MS Messenger from Microsoft.com or Skype which ever he chooses and create an account. ( which means creating a user name and address) Also Skype has noise canceling and a better image. It took him about 45min. to setup an we where ready for action. Now his project was basically bolt out and bolt in. So we where online and I had him point the camera at the bike and the items he wanted to install. At this point it was basically point the cam and step by step and in about an hour and a half we got the job done for $29 out the door. So my point is when we have issues with our bikes and have a difficult time describing the problems you can use a webcams to show and resolve the issues one on one. The best part is, be side the webcam it was all free.
