A year ago I broke my bike down for a repaint. I quickly discovered I was in way over my head, but foolishly proceeded. I did not break down the parts in enough bags and foolishly did not take any important pictures detailing the process as this project was only going to take a couple months. I could certainly remember where everything went for a couple months, I don't need no sticking pictures....now a year later, all the parts are painted, and I have the service manual  ???
I need pictures of the interior of the interstate saddle bags, front fairing, including the headlight and from speaker installation, rear fender, front and rear sections for the installation of the wiring harness, and the trunk and crash bars....I'm not too needy  crazy2 Anyone with pics of any part of what I need would be appreciated.

Try this. If there is anything you want, the original pic, let me know.

I looked over the other folders, and doesn't seem to be too much of use to you.

Gordon, Thank you. That is getting closer. Bassman, Thank you also. I've been looking at the microfiche and it may help a little in certain areas. Bighead, I know the folks that ride these things are a great group. I need to dig myself out of this hole, I owe it to me and the person who helped me get to this point. On the lighter side, I think I might want to find an interstate at a valk event and worry the heck out of some people as a big "husky", guy starts taking pictures of their bike, inside and out.  cooldude

Hey Ed and Kim.  Glad to see you on the board.  We have a new Florida Board.  Go to the bottom of this page and there is a jump to box in the bottom right.  Click on the Florida board.  There are some of us still here that were here when you and Kim were riding to eat with us.  Post on the board your plight and surely someone close to you can help.  We still have our 99 Green and Silver Interstate if you can't find someone local down there to help.  Several of the guys in the Tampa area have Interstates.  Bill (Grumpy) on the board comes to mind.  He is very knowledgeable and willing to help with most anything Valkyrie related.

I have had things apart and had trouble making the wires reach when I go back together. I don't know how much wiring harness you are talking about? Like the guys are saying, exploded parts views can help along with the manual. Some times the exploded view gives a description of the length or size of bolts. When I have a basket case I first try to sort pieces into groups that go together so as to make smaller piles. Then try to decide what order of assembly. Also the Honda repair manual has a lot of info on bolt sizes, I would seperate the bolts and nuts, get all the same size and lengths together. You might put photos on the site and let us laugh, uh, I mean help you. We can do it.  Firefighter

Hi Terry ! Two of the "great people" I mentioned..you and Iris. The 99IS that I got about 3 years ago now, was silver and green. I bought it online and suffice it to say, for a bike with 19k miles on it and $7500, didn't seem bad, until I saw the damage....well the bike isn't green and silver anymore and my color choice will surely rule out someone saying "I never saw it" if they hit me or pull out in front of me. I will head over to the Florida board and I'm confident we'll see each other soon ! Thank you again !

Not sure if I have any pictures that will help you in the exact issues you mentioned but I do have a lot of pictures you are welcome to view. These were from my Multipoint upgrade & Maintenance threads a few year back now.

Here is the link to the slide show with all the pictures.

Thank you Fordmano, there a couple pics in there I can use. Mostly an awesome project you did or several projects. That is the kind of detail I should have taken on mine and I wouldn't have the problem I've got  Wink
