I want to switch my amp using the key switch with the acc position as well as the on position of the key. I know where the 5 amp wires are that are switched on with the key, but they are not powered by the accessory position of the key. Can someone tell me where to pick up the acc wire for my amp trigger wire?

Thanks,
Jerry

Inside the right side cover there are two large connectors under a clear cover. These are where your radio connects. One of the connectors is blue and the other is green. Use the blue wire at one end of the blue connector. This blue wire will work when the ignition is on and in the acc position. I'm sure you already know that you can only use this wire for the trigger. Most amplifiers will need to be connected directly to the battery or a high amperage fuse box. The amplifier should have a trigger wire that will turn the unit on and off by a relay. Tap that trigger wire into the blue wire mentioned above.

What "acc position"?  The I/S has an accessory position?

Yes, the ignition switch is different from the Standard.  Many parts are interchangeable, but there is the extra accessory position on the interstate switch.

Rotate the top of the key towards the rear of the bike, opposite of the ON position.  The LCD dash will light and the radio will play.  I use it all of the time while working on or cleaning the bike....  Smiley
