I plan to mount the gauges into a woody's fairing this coming weekend but I still am unsure of how to use the odometer reset knob... I read on here (see below) that HD makes a flexible cable that accomplishes this but i could not find any other info on it. Does anyone have a product name or link that would help?
Thanks! Matt
Quote from: Bigbuck on March 19, 2011, 03:58:55 PM looks good. Question- How do you reset your odometer?
Harley made a flexible cable to do this very thing. I read about it in EOD Moe's write-up, searched e-bay for one, and bought it for $10. I had to modify the factory trip reset knob my drilling a hole through it for a pin to hold the flex cable. When I finish up the install in the next few weeks I will post up more pics of the small details.

Resistance is futile; if less than 1 ohm.

I got mine on ebay a few weeks ago. It was $12.95 with free shipping. You need to drill a small hole in the reset knob, just in front of where it flares. Secure it with a roll pin. Can't remember the size of the drill bit. I was replacing a previous install. Take the cable with you to the hardware store to be sure and get the right size roll pin. While you're there, it is a great time to upgrade the lights in the gauges to LEDs. You can get a 2-pack of the replacements at Wal-Mart for just under $10. They're brighter than the originals and yet have a softer, less glare light. They're direct replacements, just remember that LED's are directional so test them before you put the fairing back together. You might have to rotate the bulb 180 degrees.

I never figured out how to post pictures but the plan is Glenn from Woody's fairings might post some to his website. We have found a way to put both of the gauges and a radio + all 4 speakers into the woodys fairing. No gauges on the bars!!! Still waiting on some parts to come in but once we get moving on it i will find a way to get some pictures posted.
