FYI for the new Goldwing Valkyrie owners...new options!!...Gustafsson Plastics now has available, a 2" taller than the short Honda Boulevard windscreen.  You can get it many different colors/tints.  I think they also offer colored/tinted versions of the short Boulevard screen as well. The 2" over screen has a subtle "euroflip" edge... looks nice !

Awesome... I have the tall screen, and it has different mounts than the boulevard screen... with
the tall screen on the new Valk, there's a lot more buffeting than on the old Valk... if you get
one of these flip up screens, let us know how it works... new Valk screens looks awful, but there's
more important things than looks about screens...

Yeah, I'm not happy about the way the regular windshield looks either but its functional.  I did a 500 mile ride right around I put mine on it was fine.

I have a little more vibration in my front end than I like.  But I haven't checked the tire pressure or anything since I bought it.  It may be the handlebar mounted windshield too.

I really haven't done much riding since Thunder Beach to see what the culprit is.

I just installed the 2" taller with the flip. I got the dark smoke to go with my black bike. Our weather has been really lousy here so I only got to ride it around the block. Seems to have moved the air flow to the top of my head but it was very windy Sunday so until I can ride it out a little it is hard to say how much improvement it made. I do like the looks and I will try to post some pics.

One thing is you have to drill your own holes which turned out to be more of a job than I thought in order to get it exact. I bought the drill bit with it which make drilling easy but on one of my holes I did not have the drill perpendicular enough and it slid off and put a scratch in the face.

Par for the course for me.

You're lucky. I don't want to ride mine to the mailbox (hi Joe  Wink )... maybe soon...

I've been having trouble getting comfortable on the new Valkyrie. The best for me, so far,
was with the OEM seat and a Utopia backrest, tilted forward a little. But it was far from good,
sitting on the "point of the triangle" on the OEM seat left me feeling like a city slicker after
riding a horse all day.

My Corbin seat, which seems like it has an awesome sweet spot, is like trying to ride from
the back seat...

I want to ride like this:

Moving the seat up seems like it is not going to happen, except maybe with a
custom made Russell Day Long seat, which I guess will be my last resort...

For now I'm trying to move the handlebars back. There's all kind of problems with
that idea, will have to have longer control wires and hydraulic lines, or perhaps
re-route them. I'm currently working with a set of Real Valkyrie bars, because I think
the bend of the OEM bars is uncomfortable too. Different bars and different risers is
turning out to be a complicated project. A local machinist is helping me. I'll put up
pictures of the new bars and risers real soon, I hope... If they seem like they might do
the trick, I'll move on the lengthen/re-route part of the project...

I'm in the process of building a new shop so my old shop is crammed into storage for now.  Once the new shop is up I'm going to make a set of T-bars for my bike.  The stock bars are OK for me but I'd rather have a mean looking set of black t-bars on it.  I'll just modify or make a new windshield mount to go with them.

I do want to try one of the euro flip ones for fun but I don't feel like buying another set of brackets for the windshield.  Actually I don't think you can buy just the brackets.  I think they only come with the Boulevard screen

I have the version for the F6B and they are great. Not cheap. There isn't a set for specifically the Valkyrie, but I got to imagine that the 1" rebel model could be made to work. It's available in chrome or black powder coat. Just a thought.

Those adjustable bars sure seem like an option. I'm still waiting on the machinist who's
helping me so I can try out that idea... I hear the polar vortex is coming again, and I work
on the bike outside... I never would have thought changing the bars would take all the
way until winter  crazy2 ...

Still having the Log Truck makes it all OK...

Here's the french windshield " Secdem " on my bike

It is adjustable, well made (4mm thick, 42 cm height) and since I've got it, everything has changed ! Protection of course, silence, comfort. The only problem I may have : I may drive a little faster now !  Roll Eyes

You can have it here :

Here is a pic of the 2"over Gustafsson Plastics windshield.  I ordered red and had my buddies at the paintshop(Austin Paintworks) paint it with a smoked black edge, to match the badges on the radiator shrouds.  Oh yeah, the screen works great in the wind. Normally I either hold myself upright against the wind with my abs, or by squeezing the grips.  There is a lot less of either with the windshield mounted.

I must say I like the look of it better than the full size OEM one.

How does it perform on the interstate?

It works great for me. I am about 5'10" and wide.
It is much more enjoyable at highway speeds.
It isn't like sitting in a still bubble of air or anything, but I'm sure no one would expect that from a shorty windshield.
I've been up around the ton(100mph), and it still felt fine.
Having to strain against the wind, at 55mph and faster, was my only gripe with the bike before.  That small problem is now gone.
This machine is working so well for me. I just love it, and after 3 months it still feels exciting and new like day one, on every ride.
In early 2015 I'm going to get her out on a big (for me) trip.
A week off work with weekends before and after should give me enough time to do an excellent mountains-loop, or maybe through New Orleans to Arkansas?
...not sure yet, I'm just going to "wing"-it.

Get a better seat.

I took mine to Thunder Beach which is only about 200 miles from here or so.......  that seat is terrible.  Seriously, terrible.

I thought everyone was joking or just being a lightweight.  You don't notice around town or on short trips so you think everyone is just crying over nothing.

Nope.  Worst seat ever.

If I had a trophy adorned with a cast iron ass I would present it to you.

I've done four cross country trips on a motorcycle.  Sure near the end its bad.  I feel like the end of of a three week trip after about two hours in the new Valkyrie seat.

That bike is growing on me, as these options keep popping up. A good looking functional shield is a must for me. Corbin has already solved the good looking bag problem. Your bike looks sharp cooldude

THANKS MAN !
I like the way the Corbin hardbags look in pics most definitely.
I'm working on an alternative luggage/rack setup, and will post if it comes out OK.

This wind shield looks much better than the others. The angle seems to be about right. The others (not sure if they are stock or not) appear to be almost straight up. That would have to cause some major buffeting.

I test fitted the OEM honda windshield brackets to my new handlebars/risers setup
the other day. The windshield would no longer stick straight up... it would be tilted
forward about 45 degrees  coolsmiley ...

I ordered a Memphis Shades Hellcat... here's a random picture I googled up... I ordered
a clear one with no gradient...

I prefer the Memphis Shades Hellcat.  Question:  does clearview have a new Valk' windshield alternative, anyone know?
