I purchased and installed the Kissan Signal Minder as directed in the crappy install manual.  I installed the "Running lights" wiring harness.

Right from the start it didn't work right.  The right blinker would not shut down, just kept cycling, and when I used the left, both would flash.

I contacted the tech dept listed, by e-mail and voice mail, and never got a response.  Finally I got a hold of "Heather" who was concerned she never received my e-mails.

She said it sounded like I was getting a cross feed from the indicator light and I needed to switch it to a led bulb.  Couldn't find one in any parts store or on the web.  Ended up buy a new led socket and soft wired it up.  Made no difference.

Called Heather again and she said I might need a new "Running light wiring harness with diodes" , so she sent me one of those for $10 or so.

Made no difference.

Called Heather back and she asked if they had ever sent me a new unit, which they hadn't, so she sent me a new one.

No change.

Called tech support back and got "Branden".  I told him the story and he asked about the ground.  I told him I followed the instructions and grounded to the battery.  He said that if the instructions stated that, it was wrong.  In the questions and answer section, it states that.  I grounded to the frame where the front side cover mounts and it made no difference.

He also stated the "Running lights" mode would not work unless I used the springs in the turn switch.  I installed them and could not get those, or the sponge, to work.  Maybe I need to cut the springs down, but by then I was done messing with it.

Called Branden back and he stated he would call me back in a hour as he needed to talk with a "engineer" about the problem.

That was last Friday.

The unit works as it should when in "Blinker shut off mode" only.  When I use the "Running light" mode it doesn't work.

It feels like a wiring problem, but I've checked the wire hook ups and they are correct according to the install manual.

I've been dealing with this for about a month and walked away from it to regroup.

Next, I'll remove the "T-taps" supplied, which I didn't want to use, but did cause I didn't want to solder wire something that I didn't see working.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, I'm almost there.

It does what I wanted, which is shut off the signals when I forget too.  (seems to be happening a little more than it used to) Embarrassed

But, then, they dangled all this other stuff in front of me and I bit.

I got mine working for a while. I used the metal springs but had to cut them down a turn. Otherwise the selector switch was just too stiff and fussy. I started to get irritated when it would sometimes not power up correctly and the turn signals would not work at all. Also the slightest amount of moisture from rain or cleaning the bike would whack out the unit. I bagged it and this fixed the water issue but it still would not always work as designed. Into the "spare" parts bin it went, and I now use a Blinker Buddy to remind me to cancel the turns.

Hey BonS, thanks for the reply.    The switch won't work with either the springs or the sponge cut in 1/4's.  I haven't cut the springs yet.  Just seems, for over a C-note, this thing should work.

Ronnieb,  great info!  That's exactly what mine is doing!  Glad to see I'm not just jinxed and someone else has the same issues with this thing.  It's been a PITA.
