It was low speed and not bad. I think I broke my big left toe, it's turning black. ANYWAY, I need a kickstand if anyone has one they want to sell. Also if anyone has a set of Kuryakyn peg mounts, the peg survived but the mount is toast.

Hate to hear it Ghillie.  Man, I bet that toe is REAL tender.....  I dropped mine twice in about a month right after I got it.  Both slow turning in parking lots/drive ways.  Only thing that was hurt was one of the times I burned the He|| out of my calf.  Still have the scar, but it is getting lighter.

Glad you were going slow like I was...

Hay, Sorry I missed you when you were in town last week. I was looking forward to meeting you.

I got lucky. We were pulling off the road and hit a patch of loose gravel, I was already down to about 15mph. Could have been alot worse.

I dropped my I/S within six weeks of owning her; I wasn't used to the weight of the mighty beast.  I was making a slow-speed sharp right turn in a parking lot and we just fell over.  Luckily I just stepped off but poor Mary took a hard fall, luckily it was one of the few times she was wearing a helmet or she may have had a bad headache that day.

Was Talimena worth the ride and the view in this heat?

Had her almost 9 years, 94,000ish miles, and laid her down for the first time just the other day... Slow speed tight turn turning into my alley, and crazy woman in an SUV was FLYING down the alley on her cell phone straight at me... I was already going VERY slow and leaned way over into the turn. I grabbed a handful of brake and came to a compete stop, and just...... ka-plunk.....

Luckily it was a literal ZERO speed drop, but still..... *sigh* Oh well, happens to us all eventually... Glad to hear yours wasn't any worse!

Sorry to hear 'bout the toe - how exactly did your toe get hurt?  Was it under the crash bar when you "touched down"? Trying to figure that out.

I've dropped my I/S about 5 times now.  Once at 55mph after being hit from behind (broken collarbone and nerve damage), once in a slow speed turn with another rider onboard, once to avoid getting run over by a cell phone driver in Arlington (pulled muscles) and three times when I THOUGHT the kickstand was down (one of those was at a Patriot Guard ride with all the HD riders around, so wanted to crawl in a hole after that one)  uglystupid2

If you haven't dropped your bike, either you don't ride that much or you are Superman.  Or you actually pay attention to where the kickstand is.   Wink

Happy to have a new member of "I dropped my Valk and I CAN get up" club.  coolsmiley

WOW, thanks to all the well wishers. What a great bunch of people are on here. I know we all drop one at some point, this was my third and by far not the worst. My ego is a little less bruised hearing about everyone else's mishaps. Iced the toe for about 8 hours after I got back, seriously bruised but not broken. I am barely limping at this point.

Rainmaker-  still not sure what caught my toe, it might have been the peg, pretty sure it was not the crash bar. Got a decent bruise on my right shin and a bruise just above my belt on my right side. I actually ended up on my feet kinda crouched but never hit the ground. I tried to step off and caught my toe and ended up kinda of stumble running with the bike. Helps if you let go of the handle bars as soon as you try to step off lol.
I think the bruise above the belt might have been from landing on the sissy bar.

Vermithrax- Talimena was definitely worth it. It really was not that hot, we didn't see 90 Sunday till we were headed home and came out of the mountains above Talihina OK. Up on the byway there is lots of nice breezes. We took US 67 to Arkadelphia and AR 7 to Hot Springs. Lots of trees all the time, not much traffic, really nice. The only time it was uncomfortable is when we sat at a light or for fuel. We will plan a fall ride when it is cooler and the trees start to change. I am gonna scout some roads up through Broken Bow in a few weeks.

QOTFU- " I don't care who ya are, THAT'S FUNNY". Sorry I can't make the Ghost Ride, you are high on my list of people I wanna meet.

Franco6- Thank God we were already headed home and there was not much need to shift, cause you are right, it is damn sore shifting.

Godfire- no passengers, we left the kids at the grandparents, thanks for asking.

Rainmaker-  still not sure what caught my toe...

Who knows what happens when you go down.
I forgot to unlock my steering...I was showing off my new Valk….after a failed doughnut….
Some how my left-foot ended up in my right saddlebag, which was closed, and had both straps buckled, and my right foot was pinned under the bike....

I'm glad that you are feeling better.
