Gilligan and Navigator - Wherever we ended up

Southwest Indiana

« on: August 17, 2009, 01:52:43 PM »

Yep, our Valk is going to leave for a new home in Montana.   Cry  The new owner is flying in to pick her up this weekend.  I have talked to him, and he sounds like a "good guy."  I will take some pics and introduce him to y'all.

This is not easy.  We have had wondereful times touring on the Valk.  The Valk has given us escape, adventures, freedom, ... a way of life for 10+ years.  We have met some great people along the way.  There are too many to list, but shftr and BG were the first in 2001.   Smiley

We'll continue to read your posts and eventually post pics and reports of all of our trips.  Please remember us if you travel through Evansville, IN.  Our place is always open to VRCC members.   Cool

the bike may be gone but the memories and the companionship it has brought you and Navigator will last forever.
I'm so glad for that day in Mackinaw our paths crossed for the first time.
Both of you mean so much to me and my family.
who would have ever thought friendships like are shared here on the VRCC could all come about by some sheet metal, pistons, 6 carbs and the proverbial grin.

Russell, I decided to ride MGM today, had no problem.  Even got a small wheelie in a 1st to 2nd gear @ full throttle shift.    Love that kickshifter, no more missed gears.  Most of my riding MGM will be within a 50 mile radius of home.   The Chevy Trike gets the long rides, like the next 2 weekends, and then the CBR.......

Came home told mom that they would have to pry my dead cold fingers off the handle bars.

She grinned, & said, I knew that before you left the driveway.

So the kids will have to wait me out, before they can start fighting over who gets what.............

Red will have the last say & she can be TOUGH as nails, shpuld they start arguing.

Good for you, RJ.  I respect you in more ways than one.  Ride safe, friend.

We're heading to Charleston, SC for a "history" tour without the Valk.  Going somewhere without the Valk will be a first in over 10 years.  We are really going to miss it.

Have a great time at the CBR.  Have a couple of glasses of wine for the 2 of us.  cooldude

Russ and Judy, sorry that you've given up the Valk but I understand.  I'll be doing the same as you know.

I still will try to keep my riding in with the Nighthawk.  It's a lot lighter but not as comfortable as the Valk, shorter runs only just as RJ is doing with MGM.

Don't forget to stay with us.  I was looking forward to seeing you at the CBR but that's ok.
