I'm getting the itch to put my TBR (6/6) pipes back on, but I'm curious about getting it inspected. (In Texas) A buddy of mine had trouble getting his V65 inspected because of no baffles..... I'm assuming my TBR's also have zero baffles. (You can't see because of the turn-outs.)  Everything I've found so far says, "...Texas currently has no statutes regarding motorcycle exhaust decibel levels..." .  I can always swap my pipes back during inspection time,  but that's kind of a pain in the butt.

Anyone have experience with this?

6 years and no problems with inspection and TBR pipes.   Run your finger inside the pipes  Just past the bend you can feel the baffles in the walls of the pipe if they are there.

Thanks for the reply. I never knew TBR's had baffles. I need to pull em out and check.

TBR and Cobra are essentially the same configuration only on the TBR you cannot remove the baffles.  They must have them because all the TBR fitted bikes I have compared sound to had the same loudness as my baffled Cobras.  The tone is a tad different because of the turn outs but very close

Cobras with the baffles removed definitely let you know, way too loud

Way back when I did state inspections (quit that in '92) we didn't look for noise levels, only leaks.  The ones that could leak in a passenger compartment and kill the occupants.

Again, that was '92 and before.  Things have changed since, but not sure if that changed.
