Cross posted from VRCC Tech Board.

I'm getting the itch to put my TBR (6/6) pipes back on, but I'm curious about getting it inspected. (In Texas). A buddy of mine had trouble getting his V65 inspected because of no baffles..... I'm assuming my TBR's also have zero baffles. (You can't see because of the turn-outs.)  Everything I've found so far says, "...Texas currently has no statutes regarding motorcycle exhaust decibel levels..." .  I can always swap my stock pipes back during inspection time,  but that's kind of a pain in the butt.

Anyone have experience with this?

I just got my Wing inspected last week.  Granted it's not loud but the same shop has always done my bike inspections and they've never commented on noise or looked in the pipes.

The requirement in Texas is pretty much nil on old motorcycle exhaust for state inspection. Just has to be there.

Loud will only get you if you get a cop that pulls you over intent on getting you on an equipment violation (mostly cities).

Thanks!
About every year or so I swap out my stock pipes with my TBR's. I'll run em a few months then switch back. But I've never had her inspected with the TBR's on.

I've had zero problems ever because of aftermarket exhaust. Have had straight pipes on harley, 2 Bros 6-2 on the Valk (much louder than 6-6), turbo running through almost no exhaust on GS1100.
