Out Of Round Metzler ?

Installed new Metzler ME880 Marathon on the front of my 2000 IS at the end of October this year. A couple of days ago I had the front jacked up cleaning the front wheel. My new sears 3 ton jack of coarse slowly leaks down, so as I was turning the wheel it all of a sudden touched the ground in one spot. I tried to figure out why and thought I saw the tire was not seated correctly. Today I finally had time to check with a home made pointer and the wheel is true and the bead appears to be seated all the way around both sides. The tire has a high spot maybe a 16th, possibly a little more, in one place. I use ride-on and have no balance problem, rides smooth , except for 35 mph a little bounce that I have had with the last three sets of tires. This is my first Metzler, I have less than a 1000 miles on it.
What do you guys think? Bad tire? Will it wear out quick? What does your experience say ?
Thanks Firefighter

I have run many Metz tires, and never had one be defective.
It sounds like if you keep the pressure up, and keep your eye on any un-uniform wear (it could get worse over time), it might go a full lifetime with no big problem.
But if you have an obvious defect (esp at 1K miles, since they usually pro-rate/depreciate replacement tires), you should be able to get a replacement if you want to go thru the drill with your seller and/or Metzler direct.

I don't think it happens often but I had the same experience this last spring. My Metzeler front was out-of-round by .060. The tire had 60 miles on it. I called the store I bought it from, they called Metzeler. I did get a new tire but it was a hassle. When I took the wheel/tire back to the dealer who mounted the tire, they spun it to check the balance. I could see that it was out-of-round from 40 feet away.
I had the same tire hop around 35mph. Got worse after the tire warmed up.

I'm having too many hassles right now don't want any more. Guess I will ride for now and see. If it gets worse and I feel like arguing with Metzler, maybe I will. Thanks Firefighter
