I should be getting another Valk (3) soon. I believe it was hydrolocked before the bike was sold.
The owner brought it to me for some small work and it was leaking oil like a twinky. It runs (ran) ok but leaks a lot. Fast forward four months. Owner puts a battery charger on it and walks away. Bike catches fire under tank. Battery not harmed , but bike has a lot of wiring and possibly intake damage. I want to buy it but cant until insurance is done with it. What I am asking is about how many hours to reseal the back end and do I have to pull the engine. I will determine if it is worth saving.

If your taking about the clutch cover case, it should only take less than a 1/2 hour to remove, it can be done w/o removing the engine.

It's been a decade since I did my damper plate and I don't remember if I removed the rear wheel or not, but I'm thinking I did, so add a 1/2 hour for that.

If you are talking hydro lock repair Prez, out comes the engine. You can remove the clutch cover plate with the engine in place, but hydro lock requires more than that. Have fun with it.

Red , the repairs were done and the bike was running. It is (was) leaking from the rear and I just wanted to know about how long it will take. I have another Valk I am resurecting now. It will go up for sale in the spring.

It can be done over a weekend. Done my first hydrolocked bike this summer and being 3 retarded monkeys working on it we could have had it done in 1 weekend but had to wait for parts. Only took 6 hours to put it all back together and running.

What do you mean by leaking from the rear? What is leaking, still the oil, gas, water?

Rear of what, engine, rear drive? So that oil could be engine or drive oil.

Sorry, but without the right picture, how can I give any advise.

I still have my wire harness from my wrecked IS.

Prez, you can repair those leaks in 3-4 hours, install new gasket on rear cover for clutch, new seal on output shaft. Now the wiring harness repair, may be a while. Get it at the right price, it'll all be worth the effort it takes to make the repairs, especially since you're capable of doing that yourself.

Red , I will be getting the bike this week ( if he dosen't back out). The PO before him must have done a hydro-lock and incorrectly sealed the repairs. Will know more this week when the bike is in the overcrowded shop.  I have two strawberry and cream and the next one is black.

Gavin , I will keep you in mind as I have yet to see the bike. I have rewired many V-twinkies and just converted a Honda road race bike back to highway use that was converted from highway to track and still used the programable computer for performance.
