Good for him. I hope he continues to play until he's ready to quit. Can't wait to see Vikings v. Packers at Lambeau Smiley

I love teasing my wife about it. (Huge packers fan)

I just wish the boy would make up his mind because he's beginning to wear a bit thin with some folks. I will be watching the Vikings/Packers games though!  Cheesy

well, as much as i hate the vikings, i guess i'm going to be a fan this year.  (man, that sucks!)

seriously, if the packers didn't have an idiot for a head coach, Brett would still be playing for us.

It's not like he needs the money the dude owns half of Mississippi he live's just up the road from Punisher and Sweet Tea . Do a Google and check out his manison and spread. Old bones don't heal as fast as they use to lets hope he walks away from this game before it kills him.Picture below is Normandog and my bike parked at the Favre manison gates just outside Hattiesburg, MS on one of our " Southbound Rides " last year.Carolina Girl doing the presentation  Wink

I share your angst.  I am a life long Packer fan (and of course a life long enemy of the Vikings and "da Bears")!  I guess Farve will now join Alan Page as the only two Minnesota Vikings that I ever cared for!

As a life-long Vikings fan, I'm torn about this. I'm really tired of Favre's on-again, off-again plans to play and think he'll be more of a distraction to the Vikes than anything else. On the other hand.....

The other two QBs in camp suck out loud. So, if Favre can bring some play-making ability to that position, maybe it'll push the Vike's over that hill to that elusive Super Bowl win.

In my mind, Farve was such a great QB and had the chance of going down as one of the all-time greats...probably still will.  He was practically a walking legend in Green Bay.  But his BS over the past few years has really tainted his legacy...at least for me...and makes him look like a real a$$hole.  No offense to the Vikings, but I hope they go 0 and 16 this year...the Eagles too.

+1 what Bob E said.

Being formerly from WI for the past few years, it was a constant roller coaster ride.  "I'm retiring, no, I'm coming back, er strike that, Wait! Um maybe I've changed my mind!"
Coach had to make a decision the year before last, that time - we had retired jersey events and everything planned.  New QB was being trained etc etc etc.

The packers were caught in the middle.  Was it time to move on or not.  I supported their decision, and it didn't mean that I had any less reverence for what Bret has accomplished.  I felt his response was disrespectful to the franchise that supported him and helped make him a star.  We all expect some indecision from someone at this age, at this level, but the year before last when he went to NY, he had played the retirement card longer than ever.  A path had been committed to.

I LOVE watching him play.  I LOVED watching him play more in the beginning however.  I'll NEVER forget the seasons of 93 / 94 when he began to shine.  It was the most thrilling roller coaster ever to be strapped to!

I predict he'll take the field for MN and injure his thumb within the first few games. Shocked

My .02...

I'm a Packer fan.  Cut me, and I bleed Green n Gold.

Brett was/is one of the best to play the game, but I don't mind seeing him playing for the Viqueens...

There was a time, when if the temp was below freezing, he couldn't loose a game.  That was when he was in his prime.  Take a look at the last two seasons he played in Green Bay.  Two games come to mind.  Chicago...  Windy, freezing rain/cold...  We got our butts kicked, and Brett looked like a wet puppy, that couldn't wait to get warm.  NFC Championship game, Giants at Green Bay...  Brett's last pass as a Packer was intercepted, to ice the game for NY.  The conditions for that game were real bad...  You should only be exposed to that kind of weather if you work for National Geographic  uglystupid2  He looked cold, tired, and beaten...

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy.  The only collectable I own, is a Super Bowl Football signed by Brett and Reggie.  But his days as a 'Cold Weather' phenom, are over.  That's one of the reasons he signed with the Viqueens, so he could play home games, late in the year, indoors  coolsmiley

I wish him well.  I'd love to be a fly on the wall, in the Packer locker room, and see what kind of bets are being placed between Woodsen, Harris, and Bigby (  Grin ).  As Nick Barnette said "Do I wanna hit him?  Hell yes!  After all those practices, and having to lay off, I wanna hit him.  Put that on the bulletin board."

One more thing...  The guy fillin' his shoes for the Pack, ain't too shabby.  Rogers tossed for over 4000 yards, for a 6 - 10 team last year.  New D this year, and one of the best O's in the league, it's gonna be fun!

Can't wait for the games  cooldude
