I just read MCN's review of the new Valk. They like it. The one thing that stood out was the need for ABS. They say the large rear brake carried over from the GW makes it easy to lock up the rear wheel.

I don't like it enough to trade in one of my bikes but it's growing on me.

In the same issue they have their performance index for the bikes they have tested.
They tested the '97 Valk at 100HP at the rear wheel as opposed to 75.6 for the '97 GW.
The 2014 Valk is tested at 102.3 RWHP Vs 100.05 for the 2012 GW.
Sure would have been nice for the New Valk have 25 more HP than the New Wing.

Ya, they should have made it a real hot rod of a bike. I'm not real excited about it but it does look better with those Corbin saddlebags on it.

I agree on the Corbin bags. They really dress up the new Valk.

Horsepower-wise, 100 is really all anyone needs to do anything he wants, and lots of things he shouldn't.

None of them are underpowered.

I bet looking at the torque specs (over HP) puts the new Valk-G/F6C a step up.

If someone puts taller bars/risers, a full windshield or compact fairing, heel-toe shifter and boards and hwy pegs, matching hard bags, a Day Long solo seat with backrest, extra lights, and 50-60K miles on it and would sell it to me in a few years for around 10K, I might buy that one.  Don't care about cruise (a throttle lock is enough) or ABS.

Rear Wheel Torque for the 1800 GW= 105.04
                                       1800 Valk=109.05
Rear Wheel Torque for the 1999 IS   =  92.08
                                       1997 Valk=102.03

These numbers are from MCN road tests.

I really liked my old 1998 val.1500 but the new 2014 1832 just is sooooo much more. I had to have one, 80 mph in third is a kick in the as*

I'd like to have both. Keep my '97 and put a new Valk in the garage next to her. That would be nice.
