The Great Republic of Texas - Dallas

« on: August 19, 2009, 04:31:48 AM »

Yesteryear this event would have been called a poker run. A great excuse for a ride, some coffee and donuts, a fun run, and more food - burgers with all the fixins after, and a little more riding to get home. Sounds pretty good, and it gets even better when you know you are supporting PBTF and the Waco folk's Ride For Kids donations.

Registration opens at Barger's Allsports at 9am and first ksu is 10am. You are welcome to ride down with me from the DFW area. I'll slow up along the way if I know you are going, otherwise I will hope to see some familiar faces at Barger's in Waco Sunday morn. ~Jeff

What time and place for departure to Waco from the East side?

I may be able to break free and if so, I'll coordinate on hooking up with you on the route down.

I know they are raffling a bike to be given away Sunday and there will be other prizes, too.

Anyone that is near Richardson is welcome to ride with me. KSU 7am from the MacDonalds, SW corner of Beltline and 75 Central Exwy.

287 is probably as far south as anyone from the DFW area would find handy getting down to 35 southbound. How 'bout the Starbucks at 1198 N. Hwy. 77 in Waxahachie, 75165? Highway 77 is the old Dallas Hwy. just east of 35. If you are on  287 just stay on 287 thru the 35 intersect and get off at Hwy.77. That Starbucks is just south of 287 a block or two at Mark Trail. Don't let the Starbucks north of 287 and 77 sucker you into being at the wrong one!

8:00 ksu at Starbucks. I know, Nora doesn't like Starbucks, but they do have clean bathrooms! ~Jeff
