Thanks for the replies on my Batwing Fairing question yesterday. I thought a hand ful of guys bought the Memphis Shades BW Fairing, the one without the radio or speakers. I remember guys being happy with the finish of the fairing, stating if your bike was black you really didn't need to paint the fairing. If someone has this fairing and you get a chance, let me know what you think of it, especially in the wind. Thanks, Ladderman

Ladderman, I have the MS fairing and I do like it. The finish is good and the customer service was great. I had the first one delivered and it arrived damaged and they sent another out no problem. They even let me keep the damaged one. As far as the fairing itself it gives the rider pretty good protection although the tallest shield available for it through MS is not tall enough. I'm 5'10 and the wind smacks me right in the eyes. There is a guy out there who makes the aftermarket shield as tall as you want, I talked to him and he can pretty much do what you need. For the price I don't think you can beat it and if you already have a MS quick release shield then its even less expensive since you won't need the hardware

Thanks for the reply. These fairings look to be the same size as all the others I see advertized. I wondering if these other fairings have the same problem with the wind in the face without going with a taller windshield. I like the look of the BW Fairing but not sure I could put up with the wind beating me up as I ride the highways. I have a National Windshield now, I'm 6' 1'' and the windshield is over my head, it keeps the wind off me, but doesn't look as good as the BW Fairing or the Honda Windshield. I'll see what happens, thanks again for your help. Ladderman

I really like the Memphis fairing. I have the 5" sheild on now, that is the 9" in the picture. It is really sturdy on the trigger lock mounts I bought with it. Of course my Interstate fairing and shield on my other bike provides considerably more protection but I love the looks of my 97 standard.

Yes, it is a Corbin seat that I had to modify because that is actually an Interstate tank on my Standard. The front fender is from a VTX which is a pretty simple bolt on. (There is a writeup for it in the tech section.) The rear shocks are 11.5 inch Progressives. (2 inches lower than stock) Heres another pic with the Corbin Beetle Bags on it and no fairing or shield.

Was looking hard at one for my Tourer (which has the Cobra light bar on it) -- I was told that it is not GUARANTEED to work with the Cobra light bar, but that it PROBABLY would. I wasn't willing to shell out the bucks for a maybe. So I bought an Interstate and solved the whole problem...

I just bought an 1970's harley fairing, had to have the 9 inch headlight opening. I paid $130.00 for the fairing, $80.00 to have it painted. Used an old memphis shade windshield and cut it in half below the trim. for the money i am very happy. With baker air wings i can run a 5 inch wind shield with very little air hitting me. I have the cobra light bar.

I love the Ultimate on my Interstate but one nice thing about the Corbin that the Ultimate does not have is a passenger backrest that slips into a hole in the passenger seat (and also works for the drivers seat) This allows you to take off the backrest without tools unlike the Ultimate. And then after you take the Ultimate off it leaves the rail mounted brackets which must then be camoflaged with a $40 "cruiser bar" whick excuse me, looks a little tacky. I like changing between the option of going solo or two up in a matter of seconds.
