Not to get into debate about healthcare insurance reform but take a look at this video.
Greed in every corner of our lives.
My youngest son went to a public high school and never ate lunch there because it was horrid as he states it.
What are your kids eating at public shcool?
Seems I had a meat, 2 vegatables, something supposedly a dessert and milk at our high school 40 years ago. Not a soda anywhere on our campus.

You hit this one right on the head Stormrider!  The eating habits kids develop in school will follow them for the rest of their lives. 

You're right on about the Old Skool lunches too.  They may not have been gourmet dining (Sloppy Joes again?), but there were no Soda or Candy machines to be found.   A big item on lunches here in the NW were "Salmon patties"....not sure if they were really Salmon, but they sure were patties....
