Tucson - Its a dry heat

« on: January 02, 2015, 08:57:20 PM »

Have done some searches on the site, but did not find anything.
Looking for good quality saddlebag and trunk removable liners - the type with handles that you can put all your, and wifey's, and the dogs stuff in, ride to your destination, then open the hard containers and carry the bags into the motel.
By "good quality" I mean something that can take some abuse - like, for instance, being used to carry a group 24 car battery...  Grin without the stitches breaking  Roll Eyes.

I know what you are looking for, and they are out there.

But I have been using tall kitchen bags for years.  They are strong, waterproof, disposable, fit the exact shape available in any saddlebag/trunk, and come 45 to a box for cheap.  They do present the Tobacco Road look at the motel however.  For a battery, I might use two.

Hopnel is the maker, there may be others. I am not recommending this seller up or down (no exp), just the first add I found.

When my 85 Aspencade was totaled I saved the saddlebag and trunk bags. They are similar to the ones offered in the link.
Really nice to just take the bag to a motel. I packed some tools flat under the bags and getting to the tools was quick if needed.

I use a lightweight zippered duffel bag that will conform to any shape. When empty
it will collapse to almost nothing, could be wadded up into a ball, it came from my
Brother-In-Law's surf shop 20 years ago, so it is the kind of thing you might drag the
towels and stuff down to the beach with.

Something that conforms too well to the shape of the saddlebags and stuffed
full might be hard to get in and out.

I have a set of bag and trunk liners that "were" made by TLC Products in the USA. Unfortunately they're out of business. They're perfectly form fitting. I can stuff them full as I want while I'm packing and know that they'll fit into the hard bags when I go to the bike. Yeah, I may have to smush the saddlebag liners on their side a bit to get them in but it's never a problem. The trunk liner simply lays into the trunk easily. I love the convenience of loading and unloading and never travel without them.

Good luck in your search. I did find a 3-piece set on ebay by another manufacturer.
