Are their any opinions or pictures of the GIVI trunk mounted on the Valkyrie. These are quality bags and a lot less expensive than the OEM Interstate version.

I'm either driving a Valkyrie or an Airbus... it just depends on the day of the week.

I don't have pics, but have seen them.

It can mount on any rear rack on the bike, so very doable.

Works great, not much for looks. I don't care, cause it is only on there when needed.

Here's a little one:

I have one for sale if interested. I had it mounted on the back of my 1999 Tourer model.

Do these little trunks have built in lights? Turn and brake? Plug into trailer wiring?

Lights are built in, Givi sells a wiring harness...

The first problem I encountered when mounting my E450 Givi backbox onto the rack, was that I couldn't open the lid without unclipping the box from the rack first.
My 'fix options' were either (a) mounting it further back, which made it rather unstable without some sort of rack extension (which in turn would leave a huge gap between the backrest and the box); or (b) mounting it higher. At least if it was higher, it would be tighter to the backrest.

I went with the higher route, and got a pair of rack extension brackets fabricated out of stainless steel.

As you can see here, I could have gone about 1/2" higher to clear the backrest completely, but as it is it opens far enough to get our helmets put away easily enough.

As for the light question, there is a built-in housing for an extra stop light which is an extra from Givi. The picture doesn't give it much credit, but it is very bright.

Basically, I struck lucky with an impromptu trip to an out of town bike shop some years back.
Did you not see my reply to your earlier thread question?

Check A1 Hardbags. I found a cargo trunk with lights and a lighted spoiler for $125.00 delivered. It's not OEM quality but it looks great and installed easily.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
