Live, Not Just Exist

I recently purchased a 2002 BMW k1200lt. Not many educated car tire folks in the beemer world.  The rear rim is a lug nut style 160/70/17. I was wondering if it would be difficult to throw a 205 back there.  There's some that switched to a 15 inch rim and use a 185/55/15. I'm trying to get some ideas since I'm not a fan of m/c tires.  Thanks

A good friend of mine has a Beemer Boxer.    We have ridden many many miles together.

When I went Dark side the 1st time he also switched.

If my memory is recalling correctly, the tire rubbed on the Drive shaft.

He went 1 size smaller and cured the rubbing, but the bike handled like a wet rag on the ice.

He played with a couple of other tires and finally settled on going back to a m/c tire.

To this day he is still running a m/c tire on the Beemer and a Dark side on his Phat Lady.

Maybe a 195/60 would work. I would measure how much room you have before taking the plunge though.

OK thanks.  I have a new Metzler on there right now. I have a few weeks to play with before it's worn lol.  I need to figure millimeters to inches

Looks like a195 will go up under there. My next question is.  Do they make a 17 inch 195?

Thanks guys.  I may just have to settle for a m/c tire unless I do the 15 inch conversion
