Anybody have any experience with "run-flat" tires? The type that are branded as "run-flat".

I say that, as I expect there will be those smart remarks about running a tire flat.

Are there any of those tires out there that work with the valkyrie?  Thanks for any input.

The ones I used were Goodyear for a motorcycle. (Goldwing)
They are no longer available. I do not know whey they stopped making them.
May have stopped at the same time Goodyear stopped making any motorcycle tires.

I really liked them and had occasion to use the run flat feature. (nail)
Ran them as long as they were available.   (year)

LL, I, like Pete, ran the Goodyears on my old Goldwings and loved them. I rode into the western edge of Fort Walton Beach with all bags packed full and my bride on the back and had to be told by a cage behind me to check my rear tire 'cause it looked flat to them. I asked them where the Honda dealership was and they told me to take a left at the next light and up on the left in a mile or two. At that time, they plugged it and sent me on my way. A few years after that and a couple bikes later, I decided to get new run-flats and found that they had been discontinued. I called Goodyear and that guy told me that after discontinuing production on those tires, they offered the tools, molds etc. to any other tire manufacturer out there and none were takers. For what reason? Only speculation here but it could be that Goodyear didn't sell enough to warrant production by other companies. Could be corporate pride not desirous of producing competitor's product. Could be a problem with liability. Who knows?
Looks like the only way to go with run-flats is to go darkside. I am darkside on one of my Interstates but not run-flat. Didn't think it necessary.    Gary

I don't know for sure but I am confident that all things are trumped by money in the corporate world.
