In the past I've owned a couple of KLR 650's and wanted to get a smaller dual-sport that was more in keeping with my diminished capacity as an old age pensioner. So, at the recent bike show here in Phoenix, I took a liking to the Zongshen RX-3, distributed by CSC out of SoCal. The bike is a 250cc with a 6-speed box, fuel injection and a host of standard features including bags for under $3,500. I've heard all the horror stories about Chinese bikes (so don't repeat them), but this bike seems to have a better pedigree. My bike will be on the ship in the next couple of weeks with delivery by the end of February. There's a lot of info on these bikes on the 'net, if you're interested.

Enjoy!
Seems like a nice niche bike.

Dang George that looks like it will be fun ! I've been thinking an enduro bike would be neat to have. I haven't ridden in the dirt for many years, I'm not sure if I could still take the the pounding. Looks like retirement is agreeing with you  cooldude See you guys in a few weeks.

Good for you George, That looks like it will be lots of fun. I have often thought about a KLR myself if the time comes I can't hold the old girl up. When I stop by Chaparral now and then I check out all the new bikes and the KLR seems to be the only one I can sit on with any comfort.

Looking forward to your test report.

I have a KTM 450 for my dual sport riding, although I have not ridden it much recently.

I'm sure that your KTM is well ahead of the RX-3 at every level, including price. Truth be told, I would rather have a KTM or the new Husky, but $ and age limit my choices.
