Bear with me - I know I posted in the general section - hoping to get a hit here in tech land!

I am looking for someone willing to help me with the front end of my 99 I/S.  I am pretty savvy when it comes to wrenching and i have a pretty good set of tools and a small space to work.

My forks are leaking and I'd like to address this myself.  I can order parts ahead of time including tools if I need them.  ( I do not possess special tools )  Any help aligning or checking the forks would also be appreciated since I'll take the opportunity to replace the front tire as well.  I chewed the current tire up pretty fast.

If you are in Nashville TN I'm about an hour awayand have a large shop to do repairs. I've never been into forks on street bikes but have rebuilt them on dirt bikes. I'm sure there are enough tech tips here to help with a rebuild. I'll be glad to help you. My email is jphillips1963atmsndotcom

Keep in mind a special tool is needed ...You might get someone on here to let you borrow it if you pay shipping both ways.

Thank you to both of you.
22Dasher, I will email you one way or the other.  I am ordering a new front tire, fork seals, bushings and sliders.

It'd be nice to possibly get the tool myself since i wouldn't mind helping others once i know how to take care of these myself.  You know the saying, "Teach a man to fish..."

In the meantime, I have riding buddies who keep telling me about folks that own or ride multiple valks here in the area.  Where are ya?!

Joe, I hope to hook up and ride someday with a group of y'all.
