Hi all,

On my '98 Tourer I have a black leather windshield pouch that extends almost the whole width of the windshield. It sits about 4" above the chrome trim on the outside of the shield.

I was looking at the bike and thought a nice piece of chrome or polished aluminum on the outside of the shield to cover the reveal of the shield pouch would look nice and could be attached via the screws already in place.

Another thing that would interest me is if Valkyrie could be cut out in the same or similar font as what is used on the tank emblem.  I think the contrast of the chrome with the black shield pouch would make the Valkyrie cut out stand out.

If anyone has seen anything like this or knows of a company that does custom work like this and could work off a template please let me know.

Thanks,

Mike

The letters from an Interstate trunk look great on the OEM Honda shield chrome.

That's an old kinda crappy picture....heres a better one

Maybe you could stick the Interstate letters directly to the glass with the black in the background and save the extra trim piece

+1 "Carolina Bike and Trike" looks good, hides my J&M pouch.

Thanks, I told him what I wanted. He designed it, sent an email template for approval and made it.

Hmmm... I wonder if he'd be interested in trying to design something to hide
all the wiring-harness/bracket crud that was left exposed after I put real risers
and bars on my new Valkyrie?

Hi guys thanks for the feedback.

Big head; thanks for the link, I'll touch base w/ them in a few days to see what kind of custom work they do.  I tried several sear h variations of "motorcycle windshield trim" and their name never came up.

Chris; I like your idea but I have a couple concerns about mounting the letters to the windshield. I could use a weatherproof double face tape if I can find one thin enough to keep the letters close to the shield. I don't know if there is a liquid adhesive that wil not cause the plexi shield to become discolored.

One thing I'd like to ask is, how did you get the individual letters to lay flat with the curve of the metal trim and what did you to stick them on with?

Thanks again and keep the ideas coming, all comments are welcome and appreciated.

you can get a good trim moulding double sided tape at most auto parts stores, sometimes they dont keep it out on the shelf but behind the counters it is thin and super strong and while not mine those letters are small enough that I dont think the radius of the curve of the windscreen is sharp enough that it would be a problem of not laying flat.

Mike, when you buy the letters from Honda they come with waterproof automotive double stick tape already on them and they are on a piece of flexible plastic to hold the letters in position as you bend it to fit the shield, that's how you re-install them on a trunk
