I need to replace the front brake lines on my 98 tourer, and I want to know if all the different years for GL 1500s are interchangeable?  I'm also wondering if front brake lines on standard, tourer, and interstates are interchangeable?  Thanks.

Compare the part numbers on the fiche pages... here's the front door to a place
that has them... http://www.servicehonda.com/parts/lookup

It is a pretty safe bet that all the Standard and Tourer ones are interchangeable...

When I replaced mine, I also rebuilt the master cylinder. The seal in the master cylinder
was a bear, but I man-handled (OK, I used plyers  Roll Eyes ) it on without damaging it, and
when I was done my front brakes were great...

My quick search has the parts for the 1997 and 1998 as different for the other model years (although the cross-over pipe is the same).  Although the years vary, the parts are the same for the Standard, Tourer, and Interstate of the same year.

1997-1998:

45125-MZ0-003    HOSE, R. FR. BRAKE

45126-MZ0-003    HOSE, L. FR. BRAKE

45135-MZ0-000    PIPE, FR. BRAKE

1999-2003:

45125-MZ0-A41    HOSE, R. FR. BRAKE

45126-MZ0-A41    HOSE, L. FR. BRAKE

45135-MZ0-000    PIPE, FR. BRAKE

Get Galfers. Much better than OEM. Sometimes they discount if you buy a complete set for Fr+rear+clutch.

There is no equivalent to OEM unless you are looking for braided lines

which are prohibitively more expensive.

Pinwall has gobs of front and rear brake line assemblies for next

to nothing pricewise.

Replaced my OEM front brake lines with Goodridge dual front line kit. Absolutely no complains.

Yeah that's what I've been looking at – fleabay – which is why I was checking on interchangeability of years and models.

Yeah, these look great – and once the wife gets over all the other purchases I've made lately I'll probably do this upgrade.  For a couple of months though, I'll probably just do a quick fix. Grin
