Well, Carroll took the blame. Explained that he wanted to burn some clock and go for a third or fourth down score cuz they had a timeout and plenty of time. I thought running plays were used to burn clock. Wasn't there and old saying, perhaps from Darrell Royal, that "When you put the ball in the air three things can happen and two of 'em are bad."

I liked it even better having #25 Sherman for hawks expression on face when the interception happened - was priceless! Pretty arrogant and cocky. You may call Brady queer or whiney or whatever, but have you seen his smoking hot wife?? To not run lynch 3x's to punch it in from 1 yard line, hawks deserved to loose. Patriots overall played a better game just like when the Packers kicked the Seahawks butt a few weeks ago but still lost.

+1, I think it will go down as the worst play call in Super Bowl history.

I couldn't believe it either. But gotta love it as I sit here with my Pats hat on. I also couldn't believe the awsome, lucky saved catch on the 6 yard line the play before... How that never touched the ground is beyond me...

As most folks will agree, there are three things (with several variations) that can happen when you throw the ball, two of them are bad. Having said that, all those who are condemning the play call would be calling it a brilliant call had it not been intercepted.
Had it not been for that fantastic catch on the previous play, the Seahawks may not have even gotten that close. No one knows. Regardless, it was a great game.

And you know, if not for that bone head pass that catch would be what everybody would be talking about today. Now it's just a trivia question. I was pulling for the Seahawks and already celebrating. =SIGH!= I almost turned the set off before the fights.

Seems like there were a number of tears in the eyes of Seahawk players, or was it just raining on their team ofter the game.
Are you going to call them out on that, too?
Do you have ANY evidence that Brady cheats, is queer, or cries any more than the Seahawk players? Solid evidence, not just cause you don't like them? I doubt it, cause, at least for now, there is no evidence of that.
I am not a NE fan. In fact, this is the only game I watched this YEAR.

Wow, haters gonna hate...... Tom Brady is HANDS DOWN the best QB the NFL has ever seen. Statements like those above are generally from those with no grasp of the game and/or had their team's butts kicked by the Pats, and probably more than once. EDIT: I just saw the poster's location...Indiana.....ouch X ?

HANDS DOWN the best is not accurate at all Baldo. One of the best, yes, but NOT hands down.
Favre, Rodgers for Packers and Joe Montana also come to mind as being very good. I believe in a few more years that Russell Wilson will also be one of the great ones as well.
gotta love that fist tossing by #51 and #92 for hawks on Gronkowsky. Gronk must have made some smarty pants remark to get them riled up like that??? Am sure #25 Sherman for hawks won't be talking smack after this game for a change.
VERY dumb though to pass on 1 yard line when all they needed to do is run the ball 3x's to score easy enough and win it all. Stupid coaching lost that game and somewhat a bad pass as well which Wilson doesn't do too often. Normally, throughout the year, Russell Wilson errors on the side of convervative pass plays and usually doesn't throw a bad pass.

Favre, Rodgers, Montana and you can add Elway, Marino, Dawson, Manning and a whole bunch of others but, the records speak for themselves. Tom Brady is one of the best QB that ever played the game. It's not about just the QB, the team surrounding him is just as important. Even the best QB would be overlooked if they aren't on a talented and well coached team. Let's not forget about a well off team owner who is willing to go out and buy that talent also. Face it, the Patriots put a well oiled machine together.

Like I have said many times. I have two favorite teams. The Colts And ANY team that plays the Patriots. I don't give a rats ass how good you think Brady is. He and his coach are cheats. Period. There is no way Brady DIDN'T know those balls were deflated. Brady doesn't have HALF the integrity that Manning, Luck or many other quarterbacks has. No doubt the Colts played like crap but Brady doesn't seam to rely on his abilities to play a fare game. Instead he has to cheat.
With all that said. The Patriots played a better game than the Seahawks but what can you do huh?

the pass --- the triple coverage and still throw the pass my goodness who got you to that point give your big man the ball and a chance to win it all for you
A fade in the corner I could have understood.
Sometimes Pete overthinks...........but he did call some great plays in the game
You want to RUN DOWN THE CLOCK
YOU then R U N down the clock either the back or the QB
If there is a fumble well then there it is
felt like I was matching Eli throw the ball to the wrong team (Giant's version of hell)
Patriots did outhustle the Seahawks most of the game who wasted a miracle at the end
Congrats Pats.

If someone changed something of yours that you do every day would you know? I'm not going to go through all this BS deflated ball crap again. What I will say is this, only ONE ball measured 2 PSI low. The others were of various pressures, some being tenths below the minimum. Read the SI article linked above. The low ball may have never even made it into circulation for the game. Who knows? As cold and as crappy as that weather was, who knows what you can feel and what you can't? I'm certainly not an NFL QB, so I can't say. It was pretty lame to see how everyone jumped on the haters bandwagon as soon as the 'story' emerged. And there are more than a few rumors that Jim Irsay, of the Indianapolis Colts Irsays, might have been the one to start the rumor. If found to be true, I hope karma has something special in store for him. So, to recap....Tom Brady is a 3X SB MVP and has 4 SB rings. Haters will always hate, no matter how many 'scandals' are proven to be BS. PS. I'd LOVE to see a game between Brady and the past greats like Montana and Bradshaw....

Im pretty sure the news stated every ball (11 of the 12) were 2 lbs low. Only 1 was properly inflated. 2 lbs low on a 12 psi regulation is pretty substantial.

Reference those under inflated balls, did anyone bother to check the opponents "foot" balls? Were they all perfectly inflated? From all the bitch'n I've heard and read, I would surely hope every single ball was perfect. Honestly, I don't know the answer to that question but, I am curious. If you don't have proof those balls were perfectly inflated, don't just tell me they were. I find it hard to believe every single ball was perfectly inflated for either side. It's not like it was a close game ya know. Edited: Thinking about this a bit, ya know, I'm thinking a deflated ball would be easier to catch, not throw. Yep, let's round up those receivers and water board them, someone will talk!!!! Edit # 2. Don't forget those running backs and that center, a deflated ball would be easier to hold on to. Yep, I'm thinking G'moe is in the cards. EdIT # 3. Oh yeah, include those heinous ball boys as well. Some one will talk!!!

The new SI news story is that actually only one was 2# low. The others were just barely, i.e. one or two tenths, of a pound low. I doubt anyone can tell one or two tenths of a pound difference. So, in reality, only one ball significantly low. Isn't it possible that that one just did not seal correctly, and lost a little pressure? I have had tires mounted, and had them leak some. Brand new. Could not that have happened? Seems to be the most plausible reason.

And regulation is 12psi? I call bullshit. I'm not a football fan by any means, just pisses me off people make excuses for their cheating, lying team. Whats your profession? I'm no fan of New England Patriots, but I will admit Brady has to be considered one of the best QB's of all time. BUT Bradshaw ? That's a bridge too far. IMO he was an average QB at best on a GREAT team. I would love to see Brady's Patriots play Marino's Dolphins .

Won't argue about Bradshaw, his name just came to mind when I was trying to think of past QBs who had played with successful teams but, it's also tough to argue with the record books. How many Super Bowls Rings does Bradshaw have? At one time, the Steelers were the team to beat. Miami Dolphins under Marino were tough at one time. Name a QB that measures up to the numbers Brady has produced. He's obviously one of the best. AND, has been on one of the best teams with the best people surrounding him. Put him in Oakland for his entire career and he becomes an also ran. All I'm saying is a great QB is one surrounded by a great team. A great team with an average QB will just be average. It's a team sport, one individual can not win the SB. Edit: Wait a minute, I don't believe I mentioned Bradshaw. Damn, gett'n old sucks.

Multi-million dollar stadium... Fifty cent air gauge. I don't know what they actually pay for their gauges, or how often they are calibrated... But the thought of that is cursed funny!!

Actually a football holds a lot less air than does a tire. I'm not sure it would be very easy to tell the difference in the feel of ten and twelve PSI of air in a football. That goes even more for less than a pound.
I enjoy watching a good game, but sometimes we tend to forget that professional athletics is essentially entertainment. They do include some interesting actors, don't they?
