Actually a football holds a lot less air than does a tire. I'm not sure it would be very easy to tell the difference in the feel of ten and twelve PSI of air in a football. That goes even more for less than a pound.
I enjoy watching a good game, but sometimes we tend to forget that professional athletics is essentially entertainment. They do include some interesting actors, don't they?

The football's psi were not logged prior to the game. They were only passed.
This football psi crap is just that, crap. And it stinks. Not just to the Patriots, but to the NFL as well. I believe the NFL could have done more to quash it, but they allowed it to fester and become the media frenzy it did. Luckily, it didn't affect the concentration of the Pats.
If you go by the feeling that professional players should KNOW when a ball is under pressure by feel, what about the refs? They are paid to keep the game equal and fair, they handle balls from both teams, why didn't THEY feel the difference? Aren't they professional?

Fact of the matter is Belichick and Brady will go down as the winning-est coach/quarterback team of all time and the Kraft family as the best owners ever.
If Brady repeats, will he be the best then? Not to everyone.

HB had read that only 1 ball was deflated 2 lbs ,it had a hole in it  ... Some of the others were just below in min and others were with in 1/10 range .. He said that came from Sports Illustrated... They said NOT all balls were below 2 lbs... And again who cares... It was a loosing team that brings this up.... These balls were only used in the first half of that said game.. The second half was different balls.. And the Pats won that half convincingly ... Yuppers Haters are gona hate.... |

Hey Guys, Just like oil, tires, and any other topic, there will be varied opinions. A smart man once told me "Think about this: If everyone agreed on everything we would never have a horse race!"
Very elementary, but true, there would be no need. When it comes to sports everyone knows any given team can be beat. I thought this years superbowl was one of the best I've seen. The three bounce, off the leg, falling down catch by Seahawks was WOW. While I really didn't pull for either team, I very much dislike "The Mouth Sherman." Most arrogant man to ever play the game and like some others have said on here I think Tom Brady is definitely one of the best QB's to play the game.
