Looking to upgrade the Silverstar for something LED. Have looked into the H4 replacement bulbs only with multiple led's and about 80w. Have heard these are an easy install but not adequate for the purpose. Have also looked at the H4 replacement with 3? leds and a cooling fan. Want to retain the Hi/Lo function, have extended life, retain the original rubber dust boot, have a "white" light and most importantly greatly increase the lumen output while using our factory reflector. Can all this be done with something I am looking at or are there other alternatives to research. In searching the archives I didn't find any clear answers to all of these questions. Also would like to retain original mounting. Hoping to tap the "collective brain" and come up with a great solution. Thanks for any and all help.

I've been using this one.  No mods required, just pay attention to the (bad Chinese) instructions.  It twists apart, allowing you to use the OEM clip and reflector, just remove the included reflector.  You won't be able to use the original rubber dust boot unless you modify (enlarge) the hole for the large cooling fins.  I used silicone tape to create a dust boot, and also to insulate the wires and connections.

I like it a lot, I can see signs reflecting back at me in broad daylight!  At nighttime, it's incredible.  It only pulls 20W.

Bought this a few days back to replace my previous LED H4 (bad ballast). I really like this one, smaller profile and a true high beam.

Go to EBay and check out item number 221681434757.  I have installed these on three bikes ( two standards and an Interstate).  They are incredibly bright and have both high and low beams.  I am sure if you hunt there you can find single bulbs or cheaper prices.
