2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: March 03, 2015, 02:56:07 PM »

I was speaking with Jerry today and we were planning on a ride to The Honey Hole in Inverness, I  checked into it and discovered they are closed. We decided to make a run to The Cove Pub & Restaurant & Campground also in Inverness.
For those that would like to meet us there... we will be there noon-ish.

The Cove Pub & Restaurant & Campground
1242 S. Cove Camp Point Rd.
Inverness, Fl. 34450
(352)-668-4821

I am meeting with Jerry & Johnpaul & Mike at the Park for those that would like to meet us there... we will be here 9:30-ish North side of the Park.

San Antonio City Park
Massachusetts Ave.
San Antonio, Fl. 33576

We will also be stopping at the Speedway Gas Station for a pit stop in Brooksville for those that would like to meet us there. (Formerly Hess) We will be there 10:30-ish

Speedway Gas Station
26260 Cortez Blvd.
Brooksville, Fl. 34601-7900

Anyone that wishes to ride please chime in, I will call ahead if we have more than 10. Last time we had MANY show that did not respond. They did handle us all pretty well, but I prefer to give them a heads up, they have always been good to us.
Hope to see you Saturday cooldude

Kim & I will be going to the Deland BikeFest that day to hopefully meet up with her brother. That will be our only foray into BikeWeek this year.
Also going to do a little truck shopping while we are over that way.  Gotta get me an F150 to replace my Ranger.  Wink

I'm planning on going Doug. If Jerry and JP are in Zhills I will meet up with them here and then see  you at the park.  If they are not coming to Zhills I will just meet you all at the park.

Tropic Traveler .....Jeff just bought the new 2015 aluminum body f150. Loves it! just thought I'd mention that there is some sort of incentive right now if your coming from a ranger (Because they don't make them anymore) They tried getting me to buy. But I still love my ranger. I don't know the details of the incentive just thought I'd mention it. Trying to talk Jeff into going to Daytona or deland this weekend, But we haven't been home much lately and his projects are falling way behind Sad

There are some really good deals now, that's for sure!
I work at a Ford dealer & my guys had me all set up for $21K on a brand new '14 F150 STX with the stuff I wanted with the Ranger as a trade in on the "D" plan with incentives. Decided to go used since we bought two new F6B's late last year & a new Focus for Kim in 2013 & the budget would be too tight for my liking with a new truck.  Shocked
I agree... those '15s are awesome!  cooldude

I will be there, but probley in the pickup. Took a twenty mile run, and got the sore but. Will have to wait till I get a new seat. Having trouble deciding wich seat is the right one, as I will have to live with it for a long time.

I can tell U that my King Big Boy was the best money I spent on a seat , og course it has to fit u well but I am going on comfort alone. If u have at least a 32 inseam u will be fine with this seat.

bigjohn531,
There should be several seats for you to butt test Saturday. Many of us have one of the three Ultimate seat models. I've tried many, Ultimate is the only one I've kept. I had a Corbin and couldn't ride that thing around the block. I have ridden many 10-12 hour days and my body tires out before my butt with this seat.  I don't know anyone who has got rid of an Ultimate, some have switched to a different model Ultimate for better fitment. Some like the Corbin, some like the Mustang, some like the Russell. To each his own...

King Big Boy, there should be several of these there Saturday. I have the Big Boy and like that it holds me in place like a backrest. Sometimes I want to stretch out and I can't, I would prefer the King Big Boy myself and I'm only 6' and 235lbs.

Last call for headcount. Doesn't look like much interest. Five riders is safe little group. Any closet riders want to come out of the closet?  I just need yes"s ... maybes don't count.

I'm 6'1", weigh around 260-280 (seasonal), have a 30" inseam and for me the Big Boy is perfect. I find the steeper rise in the back of the seat keeps me more planted and gives great lower back support. I do have the Ultimate drivers backrest as well. Topped my seat with an Alaskan short shorn skin and no monkey butt!!!

Also the Big Boy leaves a good bit more room for the passenger which is appreciated since it leaves room for air to circulate between us. cooldude
