Starting the search for a set of pegs and brackets for Lesa's Valk. She is about 5'5" -  5'6" with bare feet. She cant reach the pegs on mine which are mounted on the forward curved section of the engine guards. Will have to be closer to the seat than that. Any suggestions? Photos would be nice for a "show and tell" if you have any. Thanks!

Here's the best pic I could find with my highway pegs.  They're Kuryakyn, but I probably couldn't have told you which model five minutes after getting them out of the package.

Pappy I assume by cruiser pegs, you mean highway pegs?

If so, what you want is is a set of 4050s with offsets clamped to the lower engine guard (underneath), then swung back as far as necessary to give her a comfortable reach.  Besides swinging them back on the offsets, you can bring the clamp itself back on the engine guard (but at some point, if you come too far back/down with the clamp, the arms/pegs may contact the valve covers).  Besides angling the offset arms to the right position, you also adjust the angle of the dually pegs to the right angle. When not in use, they fold up tight to the bike, and will not hit in a drop or tip over.

Remember, not a 1 1/4" Harley clamp,  a 1 1/8" Valk clamp.

I set mine up, so I am comfortable with bent (not locked out) knees with feet on pegs, and then if I want to really stretch out, I can put my boots over them and stretch out straight legged.

You can see what I mean about mounting the clamp too far back/down and contacting the valve covers. Mine are very close, but never touch.

These are the best and strongest clamps available, and can be stood on without moving them.

I have seen them mounted really low with the offsets near horizontal, and you have to be careful as in that position the hwy pegs will touch down BEFORE the drivers pegs (and when riding twisties they should be folded up and not used).  In any event, do not mount them that low, they could conceivably go in a pothole leading to traumatic consequences.

I might be wrong, but I believe the 1 1/8" clamp fits the forward semi-circular part of the engine guard, while a 1" clamp fits the horizontal part that goes back then has a slight bend below the valve cover.

I second this. 1 inch or 1 and 1/8 inch depending on which you are connecting to.  cooldude

Griff, you may be right.... down low on the underneath support of the engine guard.  My bike came with the 4050s already mounted (with the IS scoops cut off, and mounted underneath as far forward as you can go).  It may be that right out at the end of the underneath bar it is still 1 1/8, but as you slide the clamp back and down the guard, it becomes 1". Or it might all be 1".  I am not sure.

Sorry Pappy, I did my best.

Somebody with Kuryakyn 4050s on a standard or tourer must know.  Dave, are you saying for sure the entire underneath bar is all 1"?

Just checked. Lower part is .997 inches and circular is 1.133 inches tubing  cooldude

If you go o Kuryakyn web site you can put in your bike and it shows you which ones will fit.  I just bought the Kuryakyn 4041's haven't installed them yet but I think I will love them.

Wow, thanks for the quick information!  Sounds like exactly what she will need.

I have the 4050 also but used the short arms, they make a 4 1/2 and a 6" arm and I mounted my a little different with the arms facing forward. I have a 30" inseam and they work great for me.
