Hey guys.  I do not know anything about stereos and speakers and stuff like that.  However, I can usually atlas follow instructions or find videos that help me fumble through it.  I have been looking into bluetooth stuff but really have no clue.

I am currently finishing up an interstate project and this is the first time I have ever had a bike with intercom and stereo capabilities.  I am looking at all this wired stuff, and also looking at all these bluetooth options and it is almost too much for me to wrap my head around at one time.  I would like to be able to play my music from my iPhone on my stereo.  I would also like to be able to keep the intercom and cb capabilities in case riding with somebody else that has it, and I would love to be able to take phone calls through my helmet also.  Then to complicate things more, the helmets that I got with the bike are HJC full helmets and my wife and I prefer half helmets, so we have some changes to make that way also.  I am starting to research the capabilities but most of the information I see on sites are sales pitches and are somewhat confusing to an electronics neophyte.

For easy, here is my wish list in a list format:
Keep intercom capabilities with passenger
keep cb capabilities
play music from iPhone through stereo
Answer phone through headset
Find a system that will work with half helmets
Listen to the music through the headsets instead of just the speakers (wife can read book while I jam out a little)

Your opinions, recommendations, advice, and experiences are all greatly appreciated!

I use EdSets.com on my interstate. They're hardwired. I also have a Garmin Zumo. I can use my CB, radio, voice guidance,  answer my cell phone using Bluetooth and talk to my passenger. I use the Garmin for my mp3 player (and xm radio.)

If you are interested I'd recommend calling EdSets and talk through your plan. They're very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with (when Ed's not out riding!)

I added a Garmin Nuvi 660 to my auto collection years ago. It was pricey when it first come out, but can be had now for under 100 on ebay.  The GPS functions as a GPS, but also has an MP3 player and handles my 16gb SD card, the audio output can be hard wired to the Interstate audio with the audio jack or can use the built in FM modulator....I use the audio jack.  It connects to my phone via Bluetooth and could play music from my phone, but I have more music on the GPS SD card.  I take this in my truck, car and bike and leave my phone on my belt.  When powered up, it connected  to to my phone and I can make or take calls from the GPS, hear thru the audio speakers or headset.  I have not taken or made a call on the bike tho..... Not sure how well that would work with wind noise.

I have the GPS on a RAM mount snd when not on the bike, the RAM slides into either a cup holder or somewhere in the car or truck, both of which have audio jacks.

Thanks.  I will check them all out.  When this IS is finished I want to ride a lot more.  Biggest reason I cannot ride more is because of a need to be more accessible by cell phone.  Hopefully this will open up some opportunities.
